Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)

Beautiful new 1600 SF home completed in March 2008 located just off Interstate 80 in Emigrant Gap, CA.(65 miles East from Sacramento, Ca.& 25 miles West from Truckee Ca.)Elevation 5,200 ft. Beautiful cozy home comes completely furnished with true cabin decorations. All knotty pine doors, trim, base boards, cabinets and ceiling. Wonderful 3 bedroom, 2 bath with 350 SF loft upstairs with 22 in' cable TV/DVD. The front deck is 20' x 20'. Perfect for that great BBQ or just entertaining with friends. Master,bedroom 3 have queen size beds with 42 in plasma HD TV/DVD with private bathroom.(on demand hot water heater for complete home). Bedroom 2 double bed. Dinning room and kitchen have beautiful hardwood tile flooring. Kitchen counter has granite with Australian hardwood tops. Central heat with a beautiful gas stove in the living room also with a 55 inch HD/DVD Plasma TV. Home is equipped with all essential items: towels, linen, toiletry, dishes, silverware. Just arrive and enjoy! Excellent location for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer or just a relaxing get away. Just 20 minutes West from Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, Boreal Ridge Ski and Donner Ski Ranch. Check out 11:00 am / Check in 3:00 pm. Located just 25 mins. West from the beautiful town of Truckee and 23 mins. from Donner lake. In the spring and summer there are numerous lakes close by for excellent hiking,fishing and trail riding.

Well known Rainbow Lodge is located just 9 min. East on Interstate 80 for great breakfast,lunch and dinners.

Reservations: Non- refundable booking fee of $150 required within 1 day which goes towards rent.

Full Payment: Must be received within 7 days of scheduled arrival.

Cancellation Policy: Notice of cancellation must be received 14 days prior to arrival, or you will forfeit all rental sums paid( not including security deposit)

Why The Owner chose Emigrant Gap

Easy freeway access during summer and winter. Close to many lakes and ski resorts. Many outdoor adventure trails for hiking, bicycling, fishing, and dining. In the winter across the street from the cabin is a large meadow with lots of hills for the perfect snow tubing. Perfect for snow mobiles. It is forestry land. So access is very easy for use.

What makes this cabin unique

Easy access to freeway to travel east or west on Interstate 80 to many locations in the summer or winter. The bear cabin decor with all pine doors and pine family room ceiling make it a beautiful place just to relax with all the comforts of home.

Beautiful, roomy, cozy, well-equipped, and stocked Tahoe cabin conveniently situated within 15 -20 mins to SugarBowl and Truckee. Owner very attentive to guests comfort and care. Cabin alongside I80, but you would not know this inside home---cabin totally soundproof, and cars barely visible through trees. Easy access from freeway exit, and slightly lower elevation (5200 ft) shortens time in car to/from Mountains, and minimizes risk of getting snowed-in. Owner built home himself and used gorgeous pinewood for cathedral ceiling, doors and framing. Breathtaking. "Bear" and cabin decor whimsical and appealing. Absolutely plan to return. Only drawbacks are freeway noise can be heard outside of home, and there is no Internet access but it does have cell phonr reception. Neither were deal-breakers fo us. Thanks for the wonderful accommodations and memories!

Happy New Year!!!

Another great stay at Bob's cabin - this time we were two families with 4 adults and 4 children. We had an incredibly comfortable stay and the house handled our crazy crew beautifully. The upstairs loft is a perfect place to "shoo" the children away to. Skied every day we were there and the only negative was a bit of traffic on the way home from Sugarbowl each night. Bob very kindly texted us directions to bypass this slowdown and we then felt like locals. We hope to make it back up there before this ski season closes!

totally charming

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. Everything you can think of needing is there. You don't need to pack spices, condiments, paper towels, toilet paper, towels, linens, blankets. Only thing I would recommend to pack would be slippers during the winter, floor does get cold. Everything was clean and comfortable. Loved the upstairs game room. We were able to leave a board game up for a few days to continue when we wanted. We had 3 adults and 2 older kids. Tons of room for all of us. We'd love to stay again next year. Thank you Kriss and Bob for taking such great care of us. Happy New Year!

A beautiful, comfortable home away from home. Immaculate! My husband and I enjoyed a quiet weekend in this wonderful little cottage. Plenty of room for many guests, and stocked with movies, games, etc. The front porch is ideal for sipping your morning coffee and listening to the birds. I highly recommend this lovely home for others to experience. We are looking forward to returning with our two daughters when the snow begins to fall.
