Oceanside Village Resort has an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and work out room. Our cottage is located directly across from the pool. Located beside our Resort is the Riptide Lagoon Adventure Golf. A must do, there are two miniature 18 hole golf courses. Built with magic in mind, there are pools, waterfalls, boats, etc creating a heartwarming experience. Fun for the whole family or maybe a little bit of rivalry between friends.
Rathtrevor Provincial Park is a short walk away. It is truly one of the most beautiful places on Vancouver Island. When the tide goes out the beach seems endless to waters edge. A beach combing spectacular! The children love to walk through the small tide pools, collecting shells and looking for sea life. There are miles of sandy beach, pick a spot and build a castle. We have often seen deer as we walk along the beach and rabbits run freely in the trails especially in the early morning. An evening at the beach is equally as wonderful, when the tide comes in the water is delightfully warm because the sun has heated the golden sand during the day. Off on the horizon you can see the cruise ships on their way to Alaska. A perfect place for romance. It is beautiful.
Our cottage is centrally located and an excellent base point to tour the Island. Some of our favorite attractions are:
Top Bridge - A great place to hike, a total of 5km of trails. Three parks are joined together by the Top Bridge Crossing, an 81m cable suspension bridge. The bridge crosses the Englishman River, the rocks below are spectacular. The river is easily accessible & is a popular swimming spot in the summer.
McMillan Provinical Park - Cathedral Grove is an old growth forest. There are trails on either side of the Port Alberni Hwy. On the south side you'll find Douglas firs and on the north side ancient Western red cedars. Some of the trees are more than 800 years old. A natural beauty, it is fascinating.
Coombs Country Market - REAL goats live on the roof!! A very sweet sight! There are various stores & restaurants.
Whale Watching, Tofino - The West Coast of Vancouver Island is a 174 kim drive from Parksville. The golden sand of Long Beach is beautiful & the roar of the open ocean is spectacular. Whale watching day tours area available.
Arbutus Meadows Horseback Riding & Tiger Lily Farm - Guided trail rides are available.
The Craig Street Night Market - In Parksville, the market is held on Tuesday evenings in July & August. Local Shop Owners & Artists display & sell their work. As well, there is a Farmers Market on Sunday mornings.
