We rented the cabin ourselves & bought it later that year. We get there as often as we can. We continue renting it out, to help preserve the cabin, & allow others an opportunity to take in it's History & charm.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010
Asheville is an awesome city! The Cabin is very close to Asheville but, away from the city itself. The Cabin is in the woods/ mountains, with a lot of land. It's Located in a secluded area among very nice homes. Asheville itself is the perfect mix of beautiful nature, modern culture, & amazing restaurants !!
Historic, hand-carved cabin from 1895 with a creek a huge field & privacy. Less than 15 minutes to Asheville. A great place to REALLY get away.
The most charming place I have ever stayed. You can see axe marks from 100 plus years ago made by the couple that built it. The sound of the creek, the huge field are extremely peaceful. The little kitchen with a booth/ nook made from church pews from 1800's, the wood stove, the outdoor fireplace, charm & serenity abound. The sun comes up every day through the forest/ mountain behind the cabin. BRING YOUR CAMERA. Our kids loved it, my freinds loved it. One of the very few vacations I really felt AWAY from work. The family that takes care of the property lives directly across the street & were very kind & helpful. Minutues to downtown asheville, (but you'd vever know it).
How much did my wife & I love this place??? We were so affectd by it's charm, we contacted the owner & asked if she'd sell it. She said yes & we bought it in October 2010. Please enjoy it & take in it's unique history. It's like a time machine to 1895 every time we go...Eric
From the ment we pulled into the cabin we knew we were in for a treat! The cabin had been decorated with lights and there was even a xmas tree inside. The size was perfect for us and our small kids. We went through not asheville everyday to eat and even made dinner some nights. The stream was visited everyday by the kids and we explored every inch of the woods! We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. We have already referred friends who will be booking it for our wedding in April. The cabin was supplied with everything you could need including a washer/dryer. Can't wait I to get back! There was even firewood&aboard games!
Eric was awesome as was the cabin keeper. You can definitely feel the history in this cabin and it left us wanting to comeback again!
We drove up and I couldn't believe how adorable the cabin was (it's better in person!) There's a great field for playing between the barn and cabin, plenty of deck space, a porch swing and tree swing that my daughter loved, the outdoor pavilion was a nice space though we didn't use it, and the beautiful creek would be fun in the summer. The cabin was very clean! Inside seemed a little small at first but our family of 5 had no problems fitting in it comfortably. Bathroom was a little tight but had very nice storage space. Caretaker and manager were friendly and answered any questions promptly. Centrally located with groceries and some restaurants nearby. Would love to go back in the summer and for a longer period.
My husband surprised me with this weekend getaway after we moved our only child to college. I couldn't have wished for a better husband!! The cabin is beautiful reminded me so much of just being at home as our home was built in the 1870's. We will definitely be back, I would love to see it in the winter time!! Thank-you so much for sharing such a precious gem with others. (I honestly don't know how you don't live there year around)

Stayed three nights in July. Perfect place to get away with two kids. Lots of activities close by. Rarely does the actual place surpass the pictures and expectations. Thanks for the hospitality and great vacation.
Absolutely lovely! Convenient to Asheville for fabulous dining, and state and national parks for hiking, etc. We also did a spa day at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville -- beautiful and utterly indulgent. The cabin is well appointed and a perfect home base for exploring the mountains. Recommended.
Loved our time there... Close to town but not too close. Quiet, peaceful. Cabin was small, doorways are low (still have a knot on my head from the one in the living room going to check on a kid up in the middle of the night). Perfect though for a couple + small kids. Would definitely go back!
