This ideally located home is one block from 26th Avenue beach and conveniently located in mid town Santa Cruz, 2 miles from Capitola and downtown Santa Cruz.
This house is a breath of fresh air with vaulted ceilings, and several skylights throughout for a spacious and naturally lighted kitchen and living area.
The gourmet kitchen is a food lovers delight, focused around a granite island for easy gathering and food prep.The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials such as oils,spices,sugars and baking goods.There are fresh flowers throughout the house for each guest.
*Provision services or catering can be provided by request. For example, local farmers market produce, fresh local fish, or meat from the famous Corralitos market.
In addition to the comforts of this sunlit home, guests can enjoy the fireplace on cool Central Coast evenings. You can also enjoy the deluxe hot tub and convenient outdoor shower after a surf session or beach run.
For the working vacation, wireless high speed internet is available throughout the house.
Active families will appreciate this house has available wetsuits, boogie boards, beach chairs, wagon, beach toys, jogger stroller, and various size bicycles with helmets.We can also recommend wonderful babysitters.The new Live Oak library is a short walk away and is surrounded by Corcoran Lagoon which is home to Great White Herons and many other types of animals and birds.The Simpkins swim center is also close by and offers many options for swimming and playing for children and adults.There is wood for bon fires,a small portable BB-Q and table provided for beach parties.There are so many great things to do in our neighborhood that it is possible to spend a week and never have to drive anywhere.
Andre has lived in Santa Cruz most of his life and I have lived here for twenty two years and we love it.We enjoy living in this area because there is so much to offer.We go to the beach as often as possible with our two young children.We also enjoy riding our bikes around town to the many wonderful places to see and enjoy in Santa Cruz.

We built the house for ourselves to live in and we lived there for eight years until we grew out of it when our kids needed their own rooms.The house is perfectly set up for small families or a couple.We thought it would be great for a vacation house and it has worked out great for all of our guests.
The house is located a block up from one of the best beaches in Santa Cruz.It has a deluxe Dimension One spa,outdoor shower,beautifully landscaped yard,privacy plantings surrounding the property,two bikes and a baby jogger for guests to use and the inside is immaculately maintained.
We loved staying at the cottage. The owners are gracious, accommodating and thought of everything to make you feel right at home. Every detail was thoughtfully considered. You truly do not need to bring anything but your clothes, toiletries and groceries, if you plan to do your own cooking. We enjoyed making meals in the kitchen, grilling outside and the hot tub was spotless, clean and wonderful. Our 2 year-old had a great time with all of the toys and books in the house. The home is on the east side of Santa Cruz and close to some great coffee houses and restaurants. It's perfect for couples with no children, families of up to 4 or 5, a girl's weekend or anyone looking for a comfortable place to hang your hat near the beach. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful time at the 26th ave garden cottage!!! The house was beautiful, even better than the pictures. The toys and books were perfect our children LOVED playing legos in the living room.
It was a short walk to the beach even with our two children ages 6 and 2 the distance was perfect the beach was clean, the people were friendly. The owners were so kind and sammy the cat became our children's buddy, they looked forward to seeing him every morning.

We found our Cottage by the Sea to be exactly as Cathy and Andre described. Very clean, spacious, beautiful yard and clean hot tub. The short walk to the beach was easy ... quiet neighborhood ... grill was clean. Owners were available and very attentive to any needs. The children's books and toys were a special treat. Thanks for a great vacation by the sea.
This rental exceeded all our expectations. As a family of 4 (2 of whom are under the age of 5), we have become accustomed to renting vacation homes in an effort to make life as comfortable as possible for ourselves. This, by far, has been the best vacation rental we have had the pleasure of staying in. First, it is beautiful and airy. The house is well-maintained and lacks for nothing. It is clear that the owners care for and love this house. The lay-out is wonderful, as is the proximity to the beach and other tourist attractions (as in close, but not too close).
The house is well stocked with items you wouldn't expect (boogie boards, bicycles, wet suits to waffle makers -- plural!, a coffee grinder, a griddle... the list goes on). There are plenty of toys, movies, and books to entertain young ones.
We loved our stay here. The owners are very gracious people. We will definitely return and have already recommended this place to many of our friends.
This was the cutest cottage within walking distance to the beach. It has everything including some onions, garlic, limes and lemons. The owners were so welcoming and kind. We traveled with a 2 yr old and we didn't need to bring anything. There is even a jogging stroller and a high chair there. Our daughter loved the new books and the local outdoor cat that played with her more gently than our own cat. We will defiantly stay here again when in Santa Cruz!
Great place. Excellent in all aspects. Close to beach. Well-appointed. Friendly, helpful owners. Great for kids. Beach stuff makes things convenient and comfortable. Couldn't have been happier w/our decision.
