About Peg Neuhauser

My husband Ray and I live in La Jolla Village six miles north of the Mission Point View condominiums. I retired from a career as an author and mediator that kept me on the road for more than 30 years. Now I'm enjoying life in San Diego. Our first three years in San Diego, we lived in our Mission Beach condo and loved it. Now that we have moved, I am putting it back on the market for vacation rentals. I loved doing this in the past and look forward to hearing from you. When you see me, I will probably have my Havanese Pip in tow. He's the happiest dog I have ever met.

Peg Neuhauser purchased this condo in 2009

Why Peg Neuhauser chose Mission Beach

Why this property is a great choice for a stay boils down to two key reasons. First, the views of the ocean and channel are spectacular. Sitting at your dining table looking out at the channel you see every imaginable kind of boat go by, dolphins and sea lions playing in the channel, and it's such fun. The second reason to stay here is that the condo is just delightful. Everything is designed to be relaxing, comfortable, and easy for the renter.

What makes this condo unique

The dead end of South Mission Beach at the Jetty is the best place in San Diego for views of the ocean and channel and for watching the boats, people, and dolphins go by.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you! You thought of everything. We really enjoyed the condo and appreciated all the extras - bikes, boogie boards, games, movies. Leaving with the best memories. Hope to see you next year.

Wonderful - Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

Very pleased with our stay– great location, lovely view, well-appointed condo. At the southern tip of Mission Beach, quiet neighborhood next to the beach, nice view and across the channel from another beach (dog beach) – lovely to have coffee in the morning watching the whale watching boats going out to the ocean.

Within walking distance of the beach and the bay, scenic walks. Can walk to bars/restaurants. Parking is included and there are grills in the courtyard. We cooked several meals, which helped us manage costs, and we had breakfast at the condo (nice coffeemaker & also a French press if you prefer). There’s also a laundry room in the building.

Description was accurate and then some – it exceeded our expectations. Very clean and nice; remodeled bathroom. Property well cared for. I’d definitely recommend this place to others and would enjoy staying here again. Easy to get in with the lockbox, instructions and directions were super clear.

Owners thought of every detail and provide thoughtful items like flashlights if you want to take a walk at night, candles for ambience (electric candles, for safety), suggestions for places in the area. I suggest you read the binder that comes with the rental – grocery store recommendations, restaurants, and instructions for anything in the building/condo. We enjoyed The Olives café for breakfast that was recommended by the owners.

Very comfortable bed and soft fluffy robes. The natural light is great but if you want to sleep in there are blackout shades in the bedroom. The rental comes with 2 bicycles (and helmets) and we enjoyed cycling along the beach. Also boogie boards, which we didn’t use.

Small living room (coach is a pullout) but cleverly laid out – table folds out for a dining table, ottomans can be used as a coffee table. I wasn’t sure if the place would have all the things I’m used to at hotels like an iron/ironing board and hairdryer, but it had everything – even quarters for you to do your first load of laundry on them, detergent, soap, shampoo, sunscreen, beach towels, beach toys, books, board games, movies, cards.

Kitchen comes with most anything you need including seasonings, nice appliances, coffee/creamer and some pantry staples. Even stuff you might want if planning a picnic or taking stuff to the beach. Was a little chilly when we arrived (1st week of Jan) and even tho the building doesn’t have heat, with the space heater it was comfortable. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

I normally stay at hotels when I travel for work but decided to change it up a bit and stay in this home. Really glad that I did because the amenities were great! The kitchen was very functional (nice not eating out all the time), the bed was extremely comfortable (didn't want to get up) and the proximity to the beach was an added bonus (gave me a reason to leave work early a couple of days). Peg was extremely helpful and made sure my stay was pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and can't wait to get back.

Perfect little place!

  • 5 of 5

all has been wonderful here. peg, the owner was great at keeping in touch. there were no problems to deal with but i can tell she would have been right on top of it. i always have small suggestions on how to make places even more comfortable but this place is really set up so perfectly i don't have any improvement suggestions. they did an amazing job decorating and setting it up using the space so efficiently. pretty, comfortable and great location/views. we even used the grill! and the bikes were so nice to have. i was expecting crappy old bikes but they were in nice shape. we biked every day around the bay and the ocean, and up to our son's house. was really perfect. i hope your place will be available the next time we come to town because it's really perfect for us.

Piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place! It was very clean and looked exactly like the photos. Loved the spa & sauna. Used the bikes every day. Saw dolphins & seals each morning from the window in the shower. Great to have reserved parking (huge deal @ the beach)!. Can't wait to make another trip.

Charming and cozy

  • 4 of 5

This condo can only be described as charming, cozy and immaculate. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in September and Peg, the owner, has seen to every detail to make an enjoyable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, the decor is nautical chic and the pleasure is in the details. The door stops are made of knots of rope, there is a small bowl full of quarters in a cupboard that reads, "for your first load" laundry, that is, soap is there also. A temupur-pedic mattress aids in a lovely night's sleep. There are beautifully framed mirrors and two walls so that everywhere you turn, you see the activities on the water.

We used the bicycles daily and that proved to be our favorite activity. Boogie boards and beach chairs are all there for use.

It is clean, well maintained and oh, so comfortable. The beach is a very short walk away and south Mission Beach is a calm escape compared to the chaos of north Mission. Loved our time here.

Great Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We have had a wonderful and relaxing time and have really enjoyed the accommodations. We are so impressed that our every possible need has been met – you haven’t missed a thing. The book you put together is so complete and has been very helpful. The décor is lovely and makes everything feel homey. The laminated map of San Diego has been a life saver and has gotten us anywhere we wanted to go. My spouse has enjoyed the land line to make dinner reservations since he is techno challenged. We enjoyed a lunch at Brockton Villa and, but for the parking, enjoyed the food and the view. We hope to come again sometime, maybe in the winter.

Notes The condo sleeps four - queen bed and sofa sleeper. Parents with children do fine in this space, but it is too small for four adults to living in comfortable. There are several one bedroom rental units in our building and I would be happy to connect you with other owners if you have too many people to fit in my condo. Many times families rent more more than one condo.
