This was our second rental of Peter's apartment and we have been delighted each time. While we have also stayed in the East Village many times, UWS is a great area. Lots of upscale bars and restaurants as well as plenty with local flair. (And they just opened a branch of the Meatball Shop a block and a half north! Mmmmm!!) You wouldn't even have to ride in a taxi or walk far and you could be fully entertained for many days in a NYC kind of way without leaving the UWS. But this place provides access to the entire city thru cab or Uber, and the subway is one block away. We leave about 25-30 minutes before shows start in midtown and arrive with plenty of time before curtain. This apartment is stocked with all the hardware you need for eat and drink. Blender, microwave, etc. Beds are very comfortable, as are the soft towels. Bathroom is a little tight, but it is NYC. Kitchen is huge and the living room a nice place to sit if you wish to catch up on a little tv with a beverage between outings. You do hear sound of the city, well, because you are in a city. But it really takes us one day and we're adjusted. Peter is a pleasure to work with....VERY accommodating! His communication is also superb. Looking forward to our next visit!
My friend and I just spent 4 nights at this apartment with our 10 year old sons. The location was great. We felt very safe in this neighborhood and even ventured out twice at midnight for frozen yogurt. We were able to walk to the Museum of Natural History and into Central Park. The subway is very close by and getting a taxi was no problem.
The apartment was cozy and clean and the bath towels are super soft! The kitchen was large and the beds are comfortable. I really have nothing bad to say. It was my first experience with VRBO and I was a little nervous about sending my payment in advance. The owner was great about reassuring me. The keys arrived well in advance of our travel dates and he checked with us on arrival to make sure everything was ok. We really couldn't have had a better experience.
As first time users of VRBO this was about as positive an experience as we could have ever hoped for. Apartment was cozy, clean, comfortable, and convenient (the 4C's) for us and our two kids. With a grocery store one block away we were able start our days leisurely with breakfast in the apartment before venturing out. Location was very convenient to the park and museum where we spent a lot of time and easy access to sub station and taxi's made exploring super easy. The owner was extremely helpful in answering my seemingly numerous questions and provided very helpful information-he even checked in on us during our stay via email to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. This was our 2nd time in NYC but our first time sharing it with our kids and staying in a home rather than a hotel really gave our kids (12 & 9) more of an immersion experience rather than just a place to sleep. Would highly recommend!
Recent long weekend in NYC included a stay at this apartment. Located in a great neighborhood where you can really feel you're a part of the city life. There are dozens of good restaurants within a short walking distance and the subway only a block away makes it convenient getting to any destination in the city. Easy access to Central Park and other attractions are also a plus.
The description and pictures featured are accurate and Peter made the entire rental process as easy as could be. Highly recommend this apartment and plan to stay here again!
Spent 3 nights in this charming apartment. Very comfortable, clean, well organized, and perfect location. Absolutely no surprises- the description is quite accurate. We found the apartment warm, quiet, and perfect for us, a family with teenagers. Plenty of space to be together or to have quiet time. We plan on returning soon.
Just returned from a one week stay and couldn't recommend this apartment more highly. While the bedrooms were small, the apartment was clean and well furnished and suited our family of 4 perfectly. Best of all is the location - two blocks from the Museum of Natural History and Central Park; close to several subway and bus lines. The owner was helpful, responsive, and made the entire the entire transaction effortless. I would definitely stay here again.
