I stayed here with a group of friends for a ski weekend at Belleayre Mnt (so much better than Hunter). The property is in a great, secluded spot. It has nice renovations and is in great shape! Beautiful views and a fire-pit that we used even with a foot of snow on the ground! The owner Jen is cool and accommodating. Highly recommended. Book it!

Wonderful Ski House

Our family of 3 and another family of 3 stayed here from Dec 27-Jan 1 in order to ski at Belleayre. The house is absolutely beautiful and has every amenity you could possibly need and more. The kitchen was stocked with every size pot and pan, dish and bowl, cup and glass imaginable. There was a huge amount of firewood, kindling and newspaper, which made lighting fires in the wood stove very easy, which was really nice after a tiring day of skiing. The bedrooms were all beautifully decorated, and every room - including the basement - was completely spotless (way cleaner than I keep my own house!). The basement has a mini pool/foosball table, and plenty of room for kids to run around. The road is a dead end and extremely quiet (and stunning in the new snow - it looked like a scene on a Christmas card!), so we did not have any concerns letting our 10 year old boys and dogs play outside by themselves on either side of the road. There was a great collection of DVDs and the TV got a good number of popular channels, including all the usual kids channels. The owner has put together a great notebook full of information such as restaurants, maps, etc. pertaining to the area. It was not far from Belleayre (about 20 minutes taking the longer, less hilly, more well-plowed route), and there is a great restaurant on the way (Oakley's) if you don't feel like cooking dinner after skiing. We had a wonderful time and I would *definitely* stay here again if we return to Belleayre.

Great stay!

We stayed here over Veterans weekend with friends and famly. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 young children and enjoyed a great stay. The house was clean, warm, and cozy and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need, including salt, pepper, oil, etc. The kids loved the vacation house and did not want to leave. They enjoyed picking up leaves, throwing rocks into the stream, and hiking. We used the fire pit and sat around the fire both nights. The area was beautiful and it was nice to get away somewhere that was relaxing. I would definitely recommend this house if you are looking to get away from it all. And thanks to Jen for welcoming us with a bottle of wine on the counter. That was a kind gesture!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for such an amazing stay in the Catskills!! I rented this home for my family for my mom's 60th birthday and it truly made the weekend! From the picturesque views, to the fully stocked kitchen, to the detailed list of things to do in the area, it was the attention to detail that made this home so special. My stepfather couldn't believe that there were bathroom amenities incase you forgot yours. One of my favorite moments of the weekend was lighting a fire in the fire pit across the street with my family...sitting under the stars and talking. We will definitely be back again and I hope sooner than later. This home added such an amazing sense of warmth to my moms bday and Jen the owner was truly a pleasure to deal with. Ideal Family Reunion House

This is a perfect house for a family reunion. We were a family of 7 and actually ended up not using the 4th bedroom. The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful…hard to imagine this close to New York City!

The kitchen is NOT like your usual “cabin” rental, but a fully supplied kitchen that would please Julia Child. We suggest you check out the kitchen first before going to the market to see what’s there and what’s possible to make.

The Freshtown Market in Margaretville is a great little store with excellent produce and an international beer selection unequaled by any supermarket in the U.S. I would guess.
Margaretville Liquors also has a wonderful selection of wines.

We also ended up staying around the house a lot, but did go to the lake beach park which was delightful and to the Fair in Margaretville. The house is equipped with more than is stated with extras like a wading pool and gates for the stairs. Jen is easily accessible via phone or in person if you need anything or have any questions. Highly recommended
