COZY COTTAGE CLOSE TO SKIING , SHOPPING AND GAMBLING

Tannersville House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 bath, *****MAXIMUM # OF ADULTS IS 2, MAX KIDS IS 3

A Bohemian's delight, but BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER, PLEASE KNOW: We will not be answering any inquiries that do not fit within the specified MAXIMUM of 2 (TWO) ADULTS...it's not a party place. We respect our neighbor's quiet enjoyment of their primary homes and have this stipulation for their consideration.

A second and very important stipulation is that we are a 'no wearing outdoor shoes in the house' kind of house. If you are not comfortable committing to this house rule, this is not the place for you. It's important to us to minimalize dirt, environmental contaminants and allergens in the cottage, so we do not wear shoes throughout. We are also a non-smoking, no pet property. We love pets, we have 2 of our own, but many people are allergic. Regretfully, we can not accept your fur baby, no matter the circumstances.

We do not book new guests in on the same day that current guests are set to leave~ this is because we don't want our existing guests to feel rushed out nor do we want to take any chances that anything is missed in preparing the property for a new guest. We want everyone to be happy. Please note we DO NOT check people in on major holidays, because we personally meet our guests and show them to the place. The holidays included in this definition are New Year's Eve, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. During Christmas and New Year break, there is a 3 night minimum. This is due to our not checking people in and out on the same day.

It is 5.5 miles to the Camelback ski mountain. It is a ten minute drive due to the nature of the curvy roads approaching the ski mountain. The Crossings are 4 miles, literally at the bottom of the road from this property.

It's a sweet little place in that it is certainly chock full of all the comforts of home, but far from the expensive 'all bells and whistles' hotel accomodations. The main thing here is the location, the setting and the price.

One of the best features is how tucked away the cabin is beneath 100 foot pine trees, giving it that true 'you are in the mountains' kind of feel, yet just a few miles down the road are all of the main attractions of the region.

There is a master bedroom with a queen bed , loveseat and flat screen t.v. opening into the main area through double glass doors into the living room/kitchen combination, which has a futon/couch, second flat screen t.v. and then a second bedroom with bunk beds and a full bath with shower and tub.

This accomodation allows you to feel a little bit of home away from home, with actual PEACE AND QUIET, giving you the opportunity to save a little money by keeping simple breakfast and lunch foods in and not have to eat every meal out. We have a full (but small sized appliance) kitchen that will allow you to make some hot foods if you want, the option to use a keurig for your coffee making (we provide the machine, you bring your own k-kups) or Mr. Coffee brewer, fridge, microwave, electric kettle and gas range. There are two flat screen televisions with cable t.v. and many movie channels. . A hairdryer and clothes iron are also provided. ALL BEDDING LINENS PROVIDED AS WELL AS ONE BATH TOWEL PER PERSON. If you require more than one towel per person, kindly be sure to bring them along with you. Slippers in the winter months are highly recommended as the only wall to wall carpeting is in the master bedroom.

We are very close to absolutely all the highlights of the Pocono region.

We haven't stayed in a hotel for more than one night, as a family, in many years. We believe that staying in private accommodations makes a trip more economical, comfortable and safe for our family. We are well seasoned travelers that have taken some pointers from owners all over the world to try and make this little place as comfortable as possible.

It's in the heart of the Pocono tourist attractions, literally no more than 10 minutes from any popular tourist destination, including the Mt. Airy Casino, The Crossings Premium Outlet Center, Camelbeach and Camelback and the 'main drag', Rt 611 where all of the restaurants are!

Excellent place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
The cottage was very clean and provided all we needed in our short stay. It was comfy. It was located in close proximity to all the activities we wanted to do, such as Camelbeach Waterpark. Christine was very nice and met us to guide us to the house. She provided a nice binder with brochures/coupons to activities in the area and a short history of the house. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends and family.

Fine for a family of four

  • 5 of 5
Christine is very nice, and the place is as described. No problems. The kitchen is pretty basic, but the stuff you need for simple cooking is there. As she warns, the floors are chilly in winter, so bring slippers. It's tucked away in a pretty and very quiet corner of the Poconos. There's a decent restaurant just a few minutes away.

Nice getaway.

  • 5 of 5
Decided to stay here for my yearly reading/movie catchup getaway- away from the family and job. Cabin was very neat and clean and in great conditon with some interesting history behind it. Situated on top of a hill in a predominanty wooded area, it was just off a county road, but traffic was not overwhelming. A few minutes away from a family restaurant and about 10 minutes away from gas stations, convienence stores, etc. -it's not hard to get whatever you might need. Christine was a great hostess and very accomodating.

No surprises

We were met by the owner Christine. She drove us to the cabin. Great location and super cozy. . Very clean with everything you needed. Even had a lift-top coffee table to eat at. Nothing fancy but a great place to stay. Christine recommended a restaurant right down the road (Cozy Corner) and WOW was the food good and very inexpensive. Would recommend to others and will stay again :-)

Snuggled in Private, Away from the Rush

  • 4 of 5
What a lovely little cabin in the woods. We had a delightful stay here, and it was that much more perfect by Christine and John's warm welcome and personal attention, including leading us to the cabin so we would not get lost. The heat was already pumping when we arrived and the snow came right on schedule too! The accommodations are charming, but small as stated in the description. If you are looking to get away from all the rush and cost of a hotel, this is the perfect spot. The master bed was so comfortable, and we enjoyed the towel warmer in the bath after a long day skiing and tubing. We took our 2 kids (ages 9 and 6) who LOVED the bunk bed room (and the flashlights by their beds that were provided). We were able to cook breakfast on the cooktop, have hot coffee in the Keurig and keep our beer and wine cold in the fridge. A great pizza place delivered to the cabin one night which was great, and we ate at Barley Creek Brewery and Pub one night. All in all, it was just what we needed. A weekend away, together as a family, without all the noise and expense of a hotel. We will definitely be back.

Great Stay! Great People!

  • 4 of 5
Christine was very helpful. The cabin was as accurately described. We were in the area for rafting and the cabin was a great place to temporarily call home. So much more inviting than the misc. hotel. The cabin is only a few miles to Rt. 80 which was great for coming and going. Upon arrival Christine and her husband met us at a gas station off of Rt. 80 exit and personally lead us to the cabin. Also, she recommended a restaurant just down the road from the cabin that served an excellent breakfast.

Towel warmer and Keurig an excellent plus. Thanks Christine!

Notes:
This is a perfect 'home base' and not a luxury accomodation which the price reflects. We are the type of travelers that don't spend too much time in our room when away, but when it's time to sleep, or have a snack, we want a convenient, cozy and most of all CLEAN place to stay. This place will meet all of your needs at a fraction of the price of the surrounding hotels and resorts. We will provide you with information regarding the area and discount coupons for the outlet centers as well as some of the other attractions in the area. Please note if you are looking for a 'river experience' the ONLY places to launch are Marshalls Creek (about 15 minutes from the cabin) or Jim Thorpe (about 45 minutes from the cabin) As far as swimming in a lake, Smithfield Beach is about 25 minutes away, Promised Land is 45 minutes away, and you will find a link to these lakes here in the listing for further information.
