Gatlinburg Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, plus loft, sleeps 8

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a great place to spend time with your family, Mountain Memories is the place for you. This beautiful custom built cabin features spectacular views and loads of amenities. This cabin is constructed with chestnut logs from a corn bin that was built in Kentucky in the 1700s. When enjoying the breathtaking view from the huge windows in the great room, pay attention to the windows which were part of an exhibit in the 1980's Worlds Fair in Knoxville. The spiral staircase which leads you up to the loft and second bedroom were provided from a home that was dismantled in Georgia.

This cabin is the ultimate getaway offering luxury linens, fully equipped kitchen, pool table, foosball table, TV, stereo, DVD, Hot Tub overlooking the views and much more.

Its convenient location just off the spur leaves you midpoint between downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Smoky Mountain Getaway: Nestled into the mountains, this one of a kind cabin affords you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of this area. Sit back and relax in the hot tub, or grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the view from the wrap around porch. Many places in this cabin to snuggle up with a loved one or a good book (we have supplied some books for your convenience). How about a game of pool or foosball? Relax by the fire place and watch a movie on the flat screen tv. All of this conveniently located to downtown Gatlinburg, Smoky Mountain National Park and Pigeon Forge. You are just minutes away from all of the fabulous tourist attractions this area has to offer.

The Area: Smoky Mountain National Park offers great hiking trails, waterfalls, tubing, horseback riding, picinic areas and spectacular overlooks to enjoy the breathtaking views.

Gatlinburg offers skiing and ice skating at the Ober Gatlinburg Resort. Be sure to check out the Ripley's Aquarium and Mueums in beautiful downtown. Lots of shopping, fabulous restaurants and miniature golf are also located in this quaint little town nestled in the mountains. If you enjoying antiquing, be sure to venture down to the craft village in Gatlinburg.

Pigeon Forge bears the one and only Dollywood. A must see when visiting this area. Also check out Dixie Stampede for an entertaining dinner show. Also located in Pigeon Forge are shopping outlets, tons of restaurants to choose from and tons of fun for the kids. The kids will go wild when the see the go cart racing facilities and miniature golf courses sprinkled throughout this area.

Everything we'd hoped!

Everything we'd hoped!

Beautiful property, view and location! It was the perfect location for us to visit surrounding areas (we rafted the Pigeon River, visited the Biltmore in Asheville, and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg). Everything we needed - two kids had the upstairs to themselves, they loved the game tables, and the hot tub was much needed after a day of rafting/hiking! As stated in details, the drive there is VERY steep. We drive a 4 wheel drive and in perfect weather conditions, still had to go into low gears. Don't underestimate......but WELL worth the drive! Thanks Scott for everything - highly recommend.

Wish we stayed longer!

My husband and I came here for a stress free weekend and that's exactly what we got. The cabin was clean and it had everything that we needed. The location was amazing. I loved the fact that it wasn't right next to another cabin. The view was breathtaking. We also enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. Our overall experience was amazing. I do recommend asking the owner for directions because the GPS took us the wrong direction. Thank you Scott for being so nice and helpful.

Had a great stay!

  • 5 of 5
Took my wife and kids to this cabin for her birthday weekend and had a wonderful time! It is located well off the beaten path. The road to the cabin is indeed steep and locating it is not all that difficult as long as you follow Scott's (the owner's) instructions. Our GPS got us close but then get lost. Great price and less than 10 minutes to either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We had rain for an entire day so having a cabin with a full wrap-around covered porch with a hot tub on the deck made that rainy day just relaxing. Had a nice raccoon visit us and fed him out of my hand (probably shouldn't have but it was unique!) Bring your own seasonings and condiments. We would stay here again.

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay

  • 5 of 5
First of all, Scott (the owner) is a very gracious and communicative host. Of the many cabins we inquired about, he was by far the quickest to reply (many others never responded). He was also really easy to reach about any questions (even at 10PM). He and his wife definitely appear to be owners that care about their cabin and care about whether the guests are having an enjoyable stay.

We saw a bear cub walking right by the cabin within minutes of arriving...which was pretty neat. The listing is very accurate but the pictures don't really do the cabin, and it's spectacular views, any justice. So, what you see in the pics is what you'll get, it's just so much better in person. The amenities were just right for our family of 4. The kids enjoyed the pool table and foosball, the views and the location. The beds are very comfortable and there are linens, towels, and pillows in plenty. The wrap around porch is awesome, the evening temperatures just right, and the view spectacular (it's worth saying that a second time). One of the attractions in Gatlinburg (I think that is the direction) has a fireworks show and the cabin looks out in that direction. It's high enough in elevation to be at or above the level of the fireworks display...which was another treat for the kids.

Heed Scott's advice about following directions to get there rather than relying on a trusty GPS. I promise that you'll be getting a broader tour of the neighborhood if you don't..

My only recommendation for any "flatlanders" (like me) preparing to visit, is to mentally prepare yourself for what it means when Scott says some of the roads are steep. They are all very well maintained, but steep. The driveway is steep, too, at the beginning. With our minivan, we couldn't make the turn into and up the drive from the road without driving to the top of the road, turning around and coming back down. Because of the low clearance of the van, the back end would bottom out. We made it the first night in the dark in a very heavy rainstorm with water cascading down the road so if can do it, anyone can (the only hills we have in southern Louisiana are speed bumps).

We've already recommended it to friends.

There are more touristy things to do than you can possibly experience in a year. If that's not your cup of tea (like us), there is horseback riding, rafting, tubing, hiking, cycling a plenty. Lots of good places to eat too.

Wish we had stayed the whole summer!

  • 5 of 5
The listing is just as described. The photos are accurate. There is a master bedroom with a bath on the first floor that is not shown in the photo; but it is very lovely with a comfy bed, nice closet, dresser, and side table. The property is very clean and the owner is very nice. We did have one question upon arrival and the owner answered his phone on the first call and helped us with our question. Everything we used was in working order. We did not use the hot tub; although we could hear it running and we did not use the fireplace (not in season).

I would recommend this cabin - the views are spectacular. Going to and from the cabin, we saw a bear in a tree and a hen turkey and her 6 chicks! The cabin is close to many sights. Dined at the Old Mill Restaurant and Cheddars in Pigeon Forge; go early and go hungry. We traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway and Roaring Forks Motor Trail. We visited the Cataloochee area of the Smoky Mountain National Park and saw many elk! Everything was wonderful.

One tip - make sure to arrive at the cabin the first day in daylight. The roads signs are probably hard to see in the dark. Follow the owners' directions - do not use your GPS.

Thank you Scott and Janise for sharing your lovely cabin!

Nice location; amenities not as described

  • 2 of 5
Cabin was ok. Hot tub worked well. But had issues the following amenities:

1) Fireplace: Spent a lot of time trying to get fireplace to work with no success. Label on fireplace stated that it is seasonal and is off starting May 1st. Understood, however it was not working during our stay.
2) Gametables/Foosball: This did not even operate at all. Many of the player sliders were not turning or sliding.
3) TV's: Were extremely small and disfunctional; only the TV remotes in the main room worked, the others did not, even with the replacement of batteries. When compared to other properties, was very disappointed.
4) Radio: Made awful noises when turned on and could barely pick up any stations.
5) Home: Not insulated anywhere; at night was freezing cold and extra blanket provisions were thin. In master bedroom, there was a crack in between the logged walls that was poorly filled with a sort of silcone compound, that you could see the outdoors near the hottub. It allowed cold air and bugs to come into the home.
6) Outdoor grill: Non-usable due to treacherous location.

The place is fair and the view is great, but it needs some serious upgrading in all parts of the home to be comparable with the cabins in the area. There is no display of pride of ownership. Was very disappointed with lack of value for money spent for this property for our family vacation as well as our children. Many things we wanted to do to fill the time when the weather was in-climate would not even work. Would not recommend it for a young family vacation. Look at other places before choosing this one!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. I am going to take some time to address your concerns. First is the fireplace/ stove. There are lighting instructions that need to be followed to get stove to light. If directions are not followed stove will not light. This is for the safety of our guests. I also send every guest a note to call or text with any issues so we may address them and make your stay enjoyable. Unfortunately we did not receive a call, if we did we would have gladly walk you through the lighting of stove. As for the foosball table this is the first we have heard of this problem and have already looked into it with our maintenance crew. We also have 7' pool table for our guest use. You had mentioned game tables but did not mention any issues with the pool table but to make sure our crew has also checked to make sure there where no issues with it. Your concern about the TV’s. We have a 27” flat screen in the main living area, a 19” in the loft area and a 12” in the downstairs bedroom. There is a remote for each TV but at times they are moved from their respective rooms and placed in the wrong area of the cabin. The radio is there more for the use of CD’s as reception can be bad at 1800 feet when the weather is overcast. I will disagree with the remark that the cabin is not insulated. The cabin ceiling is insulated under the metal roof as well as between the logs. It does get cold when the temperature is below freezing because of the cabins 20’ ceilings and the logs are from the 1700’s and do not fit evenly in places. This is where silicon insulation is used. When lighting the stove properly it will heat the cabin nicely. We also have 3 space heaters for our guests use as well as extra linins in both the downstairs and upstairs closet. The cabin is on the side of a mountain and the charcoal grill is located in the only flat area of the property. This area is about 12’ by 15’, is flat and safe. As for pride of ownership, again I will disagree and suggest that all considering staying at our cabin view the virtual tour. Our theme is patriotic and honors our military and also has many bears throughout the cabin for a woodsy theme. Please also view the many happy reviews we have had from our guests. Cabin has extermination service every month and insects that may enter, will not live. The best advice I can give our guest is if you are not happy with the way something is working or having trouble, call us right away so we can help you have an enjoyable stay.
