Barefoot Resort Golf Villa, 2BR, 1st floor, on the Greg Norman 14th FREE WiFi

Barefoot is a beautiful complex but this rental was lacking many items that others included. We didn't arrive until 7pm (which is what we told owner but the mgmt co he hired (local neighbor) seemed peeved for making her wait around since she wanted to go to dinner with her dad - she called numerous times that day but my cell phone was off so she called hubby's cell).
Here are the problems we encountered: the WiFi did not work on premise so I had to purchase a ntwk cable to get internet (was not ideal since we had 2-laptops and had to share network cable & couldn't work at the same time). The pots/pans & utensils could have been cleaned better(dried egg was left on/in them). My husband found a shard of glass in-between the couch cushions and cut himself with it. The masterbedroom bed was not latched properly which made the one side not comfortable (and fear of getting thrown from the bed everytime you climbed off it). There weren't any bathmats in either bathroom, and I fell in the tub the first day I was there. When we called and texted the owner/managing company about this and other problems, we never received any return phone calls (not even to see how I was after falling in the tub). The phone that was provided on premise for local calls did not work (fortunately we have cellphones). It would have been nice to have received a binder of local surroundings (restaurants, churches, stores, HOSPITALS, etc..) instead of relying on the free travel books we picked up at Bi-Lo and other local stores. Also a quick return phone call from the managing company/owner to see how the trip was going and if we needed anything (managing company/lady offered to lend us her umbrella for the beach but never even called us back).

My family really loves the area (lots to do and see and beautiful beaches), not to mention the great restaurants in Myrtle Beach, but we WOULD NOT stay at this rental until these problems get corrected (especially the lack of customer service from owner/managing company). Many promises were made but not followed through. Next time we'll think twice and read reviews and look for recent recommendations. This vacation was ruined and I'm still in pain from falling on the first day. Eventhough I'm in pain, I made sure to clean this place better than I found it, and now I'm waiting to hear from the owner about my refund! And yet, no return phone calls or e-mails.
