This HOT Aspen valley getaway is set up like a boutique hotel, it features a great entertainment bar and kitchen, cozy living area for sipping hot toddies or spiced wine. Located within walking distance to fabulous dining, shops, transportation, parks, trails, and world class fishing. We are located 15 to 20 min. from Aspen, where you can enjoy arts, music, dining, skiing, rafting, hiking, golf, X-GAMES,shopping, and great people watching. This home also has an on call caretaker who can help cater to any of your needs. You will find access to transportation which is located just outside the condo. We know you will love staying in this great mountain pad and have some great memories to take home. Why pay Aspen prices when you can stay in a fun place with ALL of your friends like this one!!! We rented this place for the winter and loved it. It was so clean, and the current decor was refreshing. It was like staying in a boutique hotel for the winter. My husband and i travel all over the world and this will be a place we will be back to. Heather and Nate are so cool and very down to earth. They were great hosts. LOVE THE PLACE!!!!

SERIOUS ALTERNATE TO ASPEN

When we booked the accommodation for our 3 weeks we were concerned about the matching of the internet photos and what we would actually find. The match is very close. 106 Lakeside is a very well equipped 2 bedroom /2 bathroom apartment. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment to manage successfully all meals.
The apartment is essentially on three levels with the first level (ground floor) a garage and a set of 10 plus stairs to the apartment entrance on the second level which has the kitchen, dining /living room and then up to the third level with the two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate laundry. When we finally arrived, the place was very clean and well stocked with linen and towels. The small touches in each bathroom were appreciated. Indeed there was a high level of attention to detail.
I had occasion to meet the owner and I understand why the apartment is so good and well maintained.Value for money, 106 Lakeside is hard to beat in "Aspen" and in the high season. Basalt is emerging as a nice alternative to Aspen. The addition of Whole Foods to Basalt/Willits is a huge plus. City Markets in downtown Aspen and Basalt is not in the same league as Basalt Whole Foods.
There was some traffic noise from the front bedroom but not elsewhere in the apartment and certainly not in the back bedroom . I did not find the road noise to be an intrusion. When looking at the map/location of 106 Lakeside you may be concerned about the proximity to highway 82 I would not make that the deal breaker.
I would suggest that if you are going to stay at Lakeside, that you have/rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle and especially if come from Australia. If the season is good then there will be a lot of snow, and safety when driving to the ski fields becomes a consideration. Parking for our 4 wheel drive vehicle was directly at the bottom of the stairs.
We have made a commitment to return to 106 Lakeside in the 2015 snow season. We are at a stage of our lives where we have a range of financial choices and we choose to return to 106 in 2015 for the comfort, the quality and value. Then there is Whole Foods (WF) with an excellent " grog shop" next door to WF. In summary everything worked well and is to be seriously considered when visiting the Aspen Ski Fields

Exceeded our expectations

My cousin and I were very impressed with the Lakeside Condo. It’s in a lovely location overlooking the lake – peaceful, convenient shopping within walking distance, freeway close by with Aspen just a 30 minute drive. The property is very clean, tastefully furnished and well laid out. The kitchen is well stocked and the high stools around the bar are very comfortable. The bedrooms have excellent storage and large cosy and extremely comfortable beds. The bathrooms are perfect too with lots of lovely hot water. Also the laundry area on the first floor is fully equipped and compact. In summary it was perfect for our needs - very clean, extremely comfortable, well stocked, lovely views and convenient location. We had a couple of minor problems which Heather and Nate attended to immediately. Thank you both.

Cozy, cute and comfortable

Just as advertised. Cozy, cute and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo is well-supplied with everything we needed. Very close to a nice Whole Foods. We did most of the cooking at the condo. We also stopped at the Costco in Gypsum on our way from Denver.

Lovely view, comfortable beds. Only issue for us were the stairs. Brought our 82 year-old mother and with the high altitude she had trouble getting up the main set of stairs. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were up another flight of stairs. Getting up the stairs was a major impediment for her. Unfortunate. It was fine for us and condo was very convenient to the ski slopes. Why pay 4 times the going rate in Aspen or Snowmass for a short 12 mile drive. Highway was super!

Wonderful base for fall/fishing get-away

This was our first experience with HomeAway and thoroughly satisfactory. The property had excellent location for multiple destinations (fishing, photography, shopping, dining, enjoying hot springs). The condo was fully provided with necessities and amenities. The owners cheerfully helped with forwarded mail and loan of portable chairs. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, including a shelf full of spices. Beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean and well organized. A newly opened Whole Foods and an upscale City Market blocks away provided convenient shopping for evenings we wanted to eat in. We had family guests who also enjoyed the location and amenities. We recommend the owners and property highly.

A Perfect Fit for Us

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our month at Heather and Nate's Lakeside condo this summer. For us the location is ideal... easy access to Aspen as well as the restaurants, shopping and recreational facilities Mid Valley. The condo was clean and comfortable and suited our lifestyle of eating outside on the deck overlooking the lake. Our hosts were delightful and we look forward to returning for two months next year...need we say more!
