Our historic farmhouse was built in the 1740s, and was thoughtfully restored in 2009 to integrate today’s conveniences with the warmth of Old Island charm. It's away from the crowds, yet it's a short bike ride to Circuit Avenue, the beach, or a pleasant walk to the library. This storybook farmhouse is the perfect space for either entertaining or relaxing. You are initially welcomed through a Dutch door as you enter the heart of the home: an airy great room with its original beamed ceilings, sun-filled windows, and stately hearth. An adjoining room features a cozy, private library. As you feel the weight of life’s stresses lift, you will look around and realize that you are exactly where you need to be: home.

Our family loved this house

This house was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation home: spacious, clean, updated, and close to the beach. We couldn't believe that this house was built in 1740 because it was in such perfect condition. My kids are still talking about the "secret passage" they found while playing in the library.

I liked that it had tvs so we could catch the yankees vs. red sox, but we also found that there was so much to do on the island we weren't glued to the tv out of boredom. I also liked that the owners were really easygoing and helpful. They were really good about sending us our lease quickly, and returning our security deposit a few days after we left.

I highly recommend renting this house.

We stayed for one week in 2009, and we didn't want to leave. The house is clean, beautifully decorated, and close to town. We loved that the linens were provided. The owners are very helpful, and provided us with great information about the island, and recommended fantastic restaurants. This house was perfect for my family. We feel so privilaged to have stayed in this farmhouse, and plan to stay here again in 2010!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
