We stayed 10 days at the Brisas resort and it was heavenly! The place was clean, safe and private. My fiance and I were on a budget and felt like the personal treatment by John and his wife, the quality of the place, and overall romantic atmosphere of the resort was worth it. The beach is clean and the security guards keep non-guests from using "our" beach chairs. There is a laundry service on site with the nicest ladies. Buses are frequent and easy to use and pick you up right outside of the resort to get into town. We toted duffle bags to Walmart, loaded up, and were stocked up for the week. A few items can be bought at the convenience store on site by a man who tells the funniest story about getting his picture taken with the U of Florida cheerleaders. Just across the street through a hole in some bushes is the most amazing restaurant ever. Fresh fish, octopus, and shrimp are prepared right in front of you on a giant open barbeque. I recommend the fish tacos. Anyway, I'll be back and I'll rent from John again. He has several properties to accommodate your party and needs, and was very flexible when we had to change our plans last minute. Just ask.

My husband and I and our 3 kids (ages 8,5, and 3) stayed in a one bedroom condo at the Brisas. We loved the location, very easy to ride the bus. The pools were great for the kids (hardly anyone in the pool and easy to get a pool chair) and the beach has recently gotten new sand so we loved the beach and all the seashells. We normally go for a one week vacation to an all inclusive but this time we rented this condo for the month and bought groceries at Walmart and cooked in the condo. We enjoyed it very much. We rented a car for one week of our stay and traveled to Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, and Chitzen Itza. We went to Crococon zoo in Puerto Moreles and it is the best zoo we have ever been to. We got to hold the animals, feed them, and go in the pens with them. We met really nice people staying in the condos. We had our laundry done and a maid every 3 days. My kids would have liked to have had more kids to play with at the condos, there were more senior citizens than families that were there when we were there. My husband and I liked cooking and not having the crowds that we have experienced in the past at other hotels. We wanted to travel on a budget and it met our expectations. The owners were nice and we didn't do too much with them but the nice thing is they are on site if you need them. I would recommend the Brisas. The view out our condo was terrific, location was great, and it fit our budget. We felt very safe with our kids. The space is small but we got along very well. The kitchen only had a stove top and no oven. We spent most of our time outdoors and enjoyed the warm Cancun weather. The room had a TV with American stations and cartoons. There was only a shower and not a tub. My 3 year old is used to taking baths but got used to the shower. We shopped at the little store on site for jugged water to drink and ice cream. We listened to a timeshare and got to go on a subsea explorer. My husband did some scuba diving while we were there. I walked on the beach every morning by myself and felt safe. We also went to Isla Mujeres and enjoyed the turtles there. We ate at Harry's Steakhouse for my birthday. Overall it is a great place to stay!
