House, 4 Bedrooms + Office, 4.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

This one of a kind house sits on the point at Bloody Point. It has a gorgeous view from every room, including a view of the beautiful live oaks from the laundry room. There are very few cars on the island. You can either come by private boat or by ferry from Hilton Head.

Zack Brown and Jimmy Buffet say it perfectly, 'Gonna put the world away for a minute. Pretend I don't live in it. Sunshine gonna wash my blues away -- only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair.' If you are tired of the hustle and bustle, fast food restaurants and your family scattered from one amusement activity to another, Daufuskie will put your mind on a 'permanent vacation'. Family dinners around the table, while listening to the waves lap up on the seawall. Sit under a live oak in the back yard or on the screened porch and read a book, yet you are literally feet from the ocean. Spend hours basking in the sun, surf fishing or crabbing. Ride bikes or tour the island in golf carts. An early morning visit from the eagle as he watches the ocean from the live oak in your backyard is just one of the many reasons you should get back to nature more often. A truly unique and peaceful vacation.

All the bedrooms are big with private baths. The master bedroom and one bedroom upstairs have king beds. The master bath and bedroom have large windows with views of the beach and ocean only feet away from you jacuzzi tub or walk-in shower.

One bedroom has two queen beds, with a private balcony sitting area. The fourth bedroom has twin beds with a beautiful view of the ocean. All bedrooms have private baths, with a half bath downstairs across from the office which has a full, sofa bed. There is also a half bath on the screened porch with an outside shower just off the deck. Immaculately decorated inside and out.

About The Owner

We are a family of 6. We enjoy all of the activities on the island and especially planning and all sitting down for dinner together without everyone going in different directions. It is a great place to bond as family and friends.

It is close to all the modern conveniences, yet secluded. Offers more family time. Enjoy intimate times together without all the commercialism. It is the most relaxing place I have ever been.

What makes this house unique

Sit on the porch or in the great room and watch the dolphins. The family of eagles actually feed in the live oaks early in the morning. Walk the beach for miles in almost complete solitude. It is simply amazing at how relaxed you can actually get enjoying all the sounds of nature and seeing the beautiful sunrises and sunsets without any hustle and bustle. A great place to spend the week or a month.

Cleanliness and Maintenance are an Issue

The location is FABULOUS, and the home is very functional. However, for the price, I would have at least expected it to be as clean and well-maintained as a Courtyard Marriott, even if not the Ritz-Carlton.

The house is great - almost every room has views of the ocean. There is a great screened in porch, large kitchen and beautiful bedrooms and private baths for each bedroom. The beach is literally out the back door. The house was stocked with beach chairs, towels, games and books, not to mention plenty of paper goods and any detergent we could possibly need. I didn't expect any of that. We had incredibly nice people helping us - from the rental agent to the people who took us to and from the island and the very nice lady on the island who did our grocery shopping and transported us to the house. It was a great place - and we can't wait to go back. We did use all the bedrooms, and the only complaint was the 2 twin beds in one room had very firm, almost hard, mattresses. We remedied that by moving the boys, but on the whole it was great.

The house and view were beautiful. The air conditioning didn't work properly all week. It would be anywhere from 72 to 82 degrees. It was 100+ degree outside temp while we were there, so air conditioning was important. The house was at the point of the island so we were hoping for a secluded, deserted beach. This part of the beach was quite popular for boaters. On the weekend and on the holiday (July 4th), there were as many as 8 or 9 boats in a very small stretch of beach right in front of the house.
