NEW 2 BEDROOM IN HEART OF DOWNTOWN. PERFECT LOCATION, STEPS TO NORTH BEACH!

We lived here for 2 months.  We have stayed in both the 1 and 2 bedrooms, and I have been in the 3-bedroom many times.  My review would be the same for all. Let me hop up on my soapbox for a minute and tell you how I determine whether I want to stay at a property and how much credence I give to any reviews.  It's very simple....If multiple reviewers give the property a low rating, there's probably a problem with the property.  If multiple reviewers give the property a high rating, with only 1 or 2 complainers...there's probably a problem with the reviewer.  Some people just can't be pleased, or didn't do their homework. There are very clear descriptions and pictures showing the layout and configurations of the bedrooms.  We had a couple visiting for 16 days and we let them have the king bedroom. One reviewer suggests something to the effect that the couple in the second bedroom wouldn't be happy unless they didn't like each other.  I beg to differ!  My husband and I have been married for 35 years and like each other just fine.  We made a conscious choice to rent this apartment, and as such, adapted to make it work.  I had to laugh at the mention of height and that Missy wouldn't listen to complaints.  If I were her 1  would have said "I really can't control how tall you are and I certainly didn't map out your sleeping arrangements.". Oh Lordy.  This is Isla Mujeres.  Many of the local workers are Mayan, and the Mayan people are culturally shy and submissive and many don't speak English OR Spanish.  I know the young man who was referenced and he is extremely shy, and was probably going for help.  I would be curious to know if the renters showed up early for check in.  Some people do, and then are upset if the room isn't ready.  Go figure.  
Okay then.  We love all three apartments that are part of this property.  We love the location..it's busy, it can be noisy.  It's in the heart of downtown and that's what we signed up for when we rented it.  I love watching the people..locals and foreigners alike can be extremely entertaining (even when not meaning to be).  It's a unique place and I love it.  It's not like home, and I respectfully submit that if it's important to you to have everything be like it is at home..you probably should skip this little piece of paradise.  As for my husband and I and the friends to whom we've introduced this place to (both the island and these apartments), we will happily return year after year!

For our second trip to Isla and we wanted to be in town and this is the perfect place. Bright and clean, the apartment is new and custom-built with smart design choices that give the place the feeling of a much larger space. Designer sorts like us were impressed. The bathrooms are modern with excellent water pressure (we heard a pump come on when showering.) Kitchen is well appointed with everything we needed to fix and serve some meals at home. The main bedroom was simple and quiet with a firm and comfortable king sized bed and an adjoining bathroom.

The second bedroom is two-level space with an adjoining bath. There's a single bed as you enter and a double bed loft above the bathroom. You get to the upper bed from ladder-like steps and once up top the space is just as large as the mattress. Maybe not the easiest sleeping arrangement for older folks, especially those who need to get up to pee in the middle of night.

The apartment is literally in the middle of town. We loved reading on the porch but often ended up pleasantly distracted from the parade of golf carts and folks passing by. Everyone on the island will walk by this balcony and that offered us endless hours of people watching...and listening, which suited us fine, but if you are aiming for a peace-and-quiet week you may not want to be in the middle of the action. Cars do backfire, people do laugh and cajole each other, and children do play on the corner while waiting for parents to pick them up from school. We loved it but were thankful that at bedtime we could shut out 90% of the noise with double glazed doors and windows with the A/C running.

Beaches are a couple of blocks in two directions. There is a good grocery store 4 blocks away and a new mega grocery—Chedrauri—3 minutes and 30 pesos away by cab. And the amazing food streets Isla is known for begin at your door.

Finally. One of the owners—Missy—resides on Isla and generously offers as much guidance and advice as you want to accept. She knows the best places to eat and who owns them. She can tell the places to avoid and the ones worth trying. She has excellent taste and you can trust her suggestions.

Here's the part that lets you know you are in good hands. One of us got very ill in Chiapas before arriving on Isla. Missy was an angel of mercy. She made sure the right doctor was contacted, helped translate convos at the clinic, and checked on us every day. We were lucky to find this beautiful place...on many levels.

Loved the apartment ! The view for New Year's was perfect as we had the burning man on the street in front and the fire works going off in the square over the buildings. Beds where comfortable and we felt very safe. We like to stay in places where we are not bothered by maids or maintenance people as it makes us feel more like a home then a hotel room where you never know who was there after you left. There was three adults a one child in our party and the space was perfect. The water pressure in the shower was great with lots of hot water! The apartment is right in town so everything is in walking distance. See Ya next year!
