wonderful place/perfect stay

we searched high and low to find a place to stay for 10 days in january. but since we 'wanted it all' it was hard to find: great place, great location, great pool, preferably right on the beach and enough space for a family of four. -- well, we found it. this condo is lovely, part of - but not connected or affiliated with - the "casablanca on the ocean resort" - so we got all the good things: great pool (it is HUGE) ocean front, balconies with views galore, valet parking - without all the hassle and bad design that hotel-apartments usually feature.
so instead of dealing with receptionists we were greeted by the owner maritza and her husband who are delightful and extremely helpful and relaxed. we found a well designed, beautiful two-story condo, spacious with lots of light. the master is absolutely lovely, extremely spacious, very comfortable king bed, flat screen and the best part a balcony overlooking ocean. you wake up and see straight out to the ocean, quite stunning. the extra bedroom has two comfortable full size-beds, perfect for the kids. each bedroom comes with separate full bathroom, all impeccably clean and recently renovated. plenty of fluffy white towels. kitchen is spacious, we nearly cooked all or dinners there (there is a great supermarket that sells delicious seafood and has a very decent wine selection just a few blocks away). the living area has a comfortable sofa, tv - well, everything one really needs. there are also plenty of beach towels, beach chairs and for our welcome we found a bottle of red wine and a box with cookies on the counter. the pictures online looked great but it was even better in reality (and that doesn't happen too often) this place literally sits on the beach, separated only by a small hiking path but closed off securely with a gate. we hope to come back, i am certain we will. whoever is looking for the perfect place to stay in miami beach, this is it. and if you are looking for a little diversion there is plenty of shopping nearby and south beach just short drive.
