My husband and I needed a break from our busy lives in Nashville and this was the perfect solution. We wanted something quiet, serene and pet-friendly and the cabin was ideal. We also wanted to spend time outdoors, but neither of us are exactly the camping type. This charming, rustic (but very nice) cabin was the perfect fit! It looked just like the pictures (except the TV has since been upgraded to a flat screen) and we loved being able to prepare our own meals as well as enjoy the owner's recommended restaurants in Cookeville (a 20 minute drive). We met friends at Cookeville Boat Dock for a day of pontoon boatin' which was really fun. We also enjoyed hiking at Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls (next time we won't forget our swim suits...Cummins Fall has one of the coolest swimming holes we have ever seen!). We are already planning on coming back for another stay in what felt like our own private tree-house. Very well maintained property and we highly recommend it.
We stayed in the house and adjoining suite, which were both very nice. With the house, suite and cabin available, it's a perfect place for large or multiple families. It provided privacy, but togetherness, too. We wanted someplace to relax, read, play games and hike, and it was perfect. It was farther to Nashville than we thought, but we did enjoy one day in the city, including going to the Grand Ole Opry. The rest of the time we enjoyed staying "home," with the incredibly beautiful view. The owner was very helpful and the description and photos were accurate. We hope to visit again in a warmer season.
I'm almost reluctant to tell you how wonderful this place really is! We would to stay here all the time if we could. After selling our home so quickly, we were not able to move into our new home for a month so we stayed here. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. We were here at the perfect time when the leaves had just began to change. It is so peaceful sitting on the deck overlooking the lake, (which is the BEST view ever) sipping our morning coffee. The view from every room in the house is wonderful. Bring your binoculars, we seen an eagle and many hawks.
We stayed in the main house and even when there were people staying in the other cabins we had complete privacy. The house had all the amenities to cook with in the kitchen and that's a huge plus. If you are a pet owner, you're in luck. You can tell the owners are pet lovers. They even had doggie beds available so your pet felt at home too. This place is a 10 and you will not be disappointed except when you have to leave! Thanks for the memories!!
Location of the place and view is fabulous!! A bit of difficulty finding it as Ford Rd is not marked and wasn't using GPS. Only other complaint is that there is no control over thermostat in the studio. Would definitely stay again!
Had a beautiful week here at this property! Immaculate, private, and quiet with stunning views. We found the property well equipped and well maintained. The furnishings were newer and more comfortable than any we've experienced in similar places. We cooked all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen. It's very hard to find pet friendly rentals in this area. We have an older dog and he was able to easily navigate his surroundings. The view alone was worth the stay- we even saw an Eagle on several occasions from the deck. We've both traveled extensively from Europe to Asia and this has officially become one of our favorite get-aways. It's a great place for relaxing, enjoying, and rejuvenating your creative spirit.
View was great! The place was not kept up as well as I had liked. The cabin was very clean but the outside was COVERED in spiders and webs, grass wasn't mowed, lots of overgrown landscape. Plenty of supplies except for a kitchen knife??? The cable and internet was spotty to say the least but, again, the room was clean and the view, after taking down the spider webs, was awesome.
