Very upscale log cabin/with white leather couches and Tiffany lamps throughout. Spacious with a wonderful library of books and VCR/DVD . Enjoy a fire in the chiminea , hike on the Appalachian Trail/Skyline Drive trails, horse back riding or climb Old Rag Mountain. Bike Clubs come to our area, for sponsored events biking beautiful, scenic country lanes.
We are close to five or six renowned winery/vineyards in the area,. Additional great wineries are located within 20 miles from the Cabin At The Mill. The cabin is pure magic, situated on 11 acres of private property, including our own private stream. A couple of mountain bikes will take you down country roads to view bald eagles, hawks, red fox, wild turkey, black bear, and wildlife you would not normally get a chance to see.
We are close to the famous Washington, Virginia, home of 'The Inn at Little Washington,' and Skyline Drive is wonderfully convenient. Won't you join us + we want to share!

A retired Flight Attendant [for a major airline] and a retired US Air Force Career man continue on to love their life out in nature and amongst the wildlife. We thrive on the clean mountain air and the solitude of the hollow, with the lovely stream running thru it. It is such a perfectly beautiful place and truly magic at Cabin At The Mill. We want to share that with other people by opening up of private Guest House on the property and let others experience this amazing place.

Because there is no other place like this on earth ... it is that special..
So much to do for the active individual and so euphoric for the quiet and pensive.
This is exactly what we were hoping for and it even surpassed our expectations. The cabin has everything you need- grill, cooking utensils, etc. All we had to bring was the food. We had only two people and one dog, but there was an extra room with bunk beds so it would have fit a family just fine.
Very dog friendly. Ours had a blast running around the property- which was the perfect amount of room for her to run around. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful- she recommended a few wineries and we were able to bring the dog and enjoy a great afternoon- all within about 3 miles of the cabin. No cell service or wifi but it was actually really great not to have those distractions. Deck in front is perfect- plenty of room, big table with an umbrella that provided a great amount of shade, hammock. Just a really great setting and only 1.5 hours from DC. Highly recommend!
Great cabin! We went with our two daughters (age 4 and 1). They loved the cabin loft and the playground. It was a great weekend for our family to reconnect.
Definitely a special place. The cabin was clean, well-decorated, and full of little details that made us feel at home right away. I don't even want to mention everything, because it is so fun to explore. The beds were super comfortable! Close to national park, wineries, and restaurants but feels worlds away from everything. With all of the amenities, you could easily have a great vacation without ever leaving the cabin. Jim, the owner, was wonderful; he made everything so simple. The dogs, the kids, and the grown-ups all had an amazing time!
Four girls went last weekend for fall foliage and hiking. It rained every minute we were there, but we loved staying in our "home". We did hike Little Devil's stairs in the rain and these 60 plus years old finished it and alive. We came back to our cabin and after showering (wonderful shower in the sweet bathroom) we broke out the games and had dinner with our wine. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking in, although we wanted to grill and sit by the fire. Another time in the sunshine. The owner greeted us upon arrival, but already had the lights and music on. We felt welcome. Thank you
The spot was beautiful...right in the middle of the woods near a stream. The owners were wonderful and welcoming. The cabin was warm, quiet and very comfortable. We enjoyed spending our 15th wedding anniversary there along with our VERY welcomed furry four legged children. We only wish we had more time to spend there at the cabin and chat with the owners (very nice people).
We stayed a week at the Cabin at the Mill with our 4 year-old. It was perfect. Clean, comfortable, and attractive on the inside, manicured but still wild on the outside. Thunderstorms, clear days, stars at night, wildlife -- turkeys in the yard. The little country playground was so fun. We all loved it and called it home immediately. So grateful for our time there. We will return for sure. (One thing -- I enjoyed the lack of cell reception, but others might be surprised.)
