The listing and photos are as accurate as they can be, but lack the sounds of the brook and the birds and the wind in the trees. Add the smell of fresh cut grass, feel the swaying hammock in the early morning sunlight, imagine knowing that there is no better place you could be at that moment, and you'll have a more accurate picture.
The bed is comfortable, the living room and porch areas are generous for two people. The bathroom and kitchen area are small and adequate. Everything is well maintained and the overall feel is comfortable and relaxing.
Bonny and Jim met us when we arrived, chatted for a bit which we enjoyed tremendously, made sure we had everything we needed and then disappeared. Look forward to seeing them in the Fall and sharing a little wine and cheese by the firepit. We will certainly be back.

WOW! I don't even know where to begin! This place is so cute!! My boyfriend and I enjoyed every minute of our stay in this sweet, little cabin! Oh but wait, I think the dogs might have enjoyed it even more! Both pups were exhausted after romping around and playing outside. The creek was a huge hit! We also found some time, when we weren't grilling or relaxing by the fire pit, to take some nature walks! The bed was ridiculously comfortable too. In fact, I think I will have to invest in a Tempurpedic Mattress. And, it would be shameful for me not to mention the owners, Bonny and Jim! They greeted us on the second day to make sure we had everything we needed. Of course, we did, but it was super considerate for them to check on us! Jim even noticed that we were running low on firewood and replenished our supply. They are a lovely couple with a lovely piece of land!

I would definitely return to this little piece of heaven. I am also considering treating my folks to a weekend here for an anniversary gift. I know they would love it as much as we did!

Tip for future travelers: I would highly recommend brining all of your food items with you. We packed a full cooler (frig onsite) and beverages, so that we wouldn't have to go anywhere once we settled in. It's the only thing you need to bring! I just wouldn't want you to waste a minute traveling to the store once you arrive! Besides, if you are like us, you won't want to leave!

Words can not express how fantastic our weekend was at the Cabin at the Mill! The Paulson's are the most amazing hosts and their property lacks NOTHING for a family looking to spend some quality time together. Our 2 girls ages 7 & 8 had the most amazing time enjoying the outdoors. When asked what their favorite part of the trip was, they said they can not choose just one thing!

We would and will recommend this property to anyone we meet. The location is perfect for enjoying Shenandoah National Park and being able to still have a peaceful, quiet place to return to for the evening. Actually, you truly do not need to leave the property to have a fantastic time as it has everything you could possibly need.
