Green Acres Ranch is more than a cozy place to stay...it is a work of art surprising its happy guests with beauty and creativity.
The ranch has two separate cabins (rented individually or together - see our other VRBO listing #506635) and is on acres of clean and sparse Mojave Desert land. Several lounging areas, hammocks, and fire pits help you soak up the sun, the stars, a good book or a glass of wine (It's rumored that a bottle has greeted a guest or two).
For those who love wildlife, our mature trees and other plant life attract a host of twittering birds and scurrying critters: quail, doves, friendly bats, and roadrunners to name a few. Ravens often nest in the large Tamarisk trees at the front gate, raising new hatchlings each year.
We're located less than a mile away from the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park, and our convenient location near the 62 Highway provides easy access to all nearby locations without sacrificing a sense of peaceful seclusion. Daily excursions may include Joshua Tree National Park (West entrance less than ten minutes away), East Mojave Scenic National Area, Big Morongo Wildlife Preserve, Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley, Big Bear Mountain, Twentynine Palms, Pioneer Town, or Giant Rock.
We are Albert and Sandra, artists from the Los Angeles area.

Joshua Tree is the best getaway from the city, if you want big open skies and uncrowded spaces! Green Acres Ranch has a relaxed and unpretentious feeling that guests instantly respond to.
What our guests really enjoy about the property is that it provides great comfort, yet has the slight feel of 'roughing it'. We are private, and yet easily accessible to Highway 62.
We absolutely love staying at Green Acres. The location is perfect, the cabins are completely charming and comfortable, the park is within walking distance, the scenery is amazing. Could not recommend more.
Well equipped, comfortable and great design features. My wife and I kept chuckling with delight when we first explored the Cactus Flower, both inside and out. Nice touches like the welcoming bottle of wine, fire pit outside and wonderful old wood burner inside. Great shower and very comfortable bed. For anyone like us who is used to complete silence at night, the drone of traffic on the highway may be intrusive but it is at a good distance, so muted. Excellent prior information and local info when we arrived. Selection of books, DVDs etc. To conclude, we loved it.
I have been meaning to write this review for long time and am finally getting around to it! I rarely write reviews, but this little cabin in the desert stole my heart and I felt the need to put a good word in for it! My boyfriend and I came here for our first anniversary and I have to say that we just had the most amazing time. From the very first moment we arrived on the property, there was just this energy throughout the whole place, such happiness! The owners have really thought of every detail, I don't think I would have changed a single thing. It was clean, well maintained, and has eclectic décor; the little handbook they put together with troubleshooting and how-to's was so helpful and thorough! They included everything from how to work the tv to what restaurants they recommend, we didn't have a single question that little binder couldn't answer. I can't wait to go back, I think of our time there often and miss it so much! I enjoyed the cowboy tub during the heat of the day and the stars at night, which were simply breathtaking, and will definitely be returning soon! I would absolutely recommend this rental!
I have stayed at the Cactus Flower many times since discovering it years ago, and am still as excited every time I go as I was the the first time. (I pretend it's my personal cabin, just out there waiting for me). What they have done to the cabin is fantastic. Warm, bright, the decor is eclectic and interesting, never overdone, inside and out. The patio is private, plenty to look at. The stress starts to fall away as soon as you drive through that gate. Thanks Albert and Sandra for not holding your property hostage, as many VRBO's are. You have found and refined a jewel, thanks for sharing it!
I won't repeat all of the good things people have said about this cabin, but can confirm that they're true! We had a great stay and highly recommend renting this cabin. For those of you who are looking at one cabin and concerned about privacy since there are two on the property, don't worry. The cabins are set up with your privacy in mind. Besides a friendly hello now and then from the people in the place next door, we didn't even think about them as we lounged with our books.
We had THE best time and we just loved our little getaway in the desert so much. It really is a magical place! We were just so impressed by all of the heard work and lovely details that went in to making Green Acres so special. We didn't want to leave! We will DEFINITELY be back!
