An experience for a life time

The moment you leave urban areas, Costa Rica feeds you non-stop beauty and peace with that element of surprise and variety that only nature can create. The people do the rest. “Ticos” are friendly and helpful hosts. A trip to Cabo Matapalo seemed like the ultimate CR experience. A cape surrounded by ocean, gulf, and pristine rainforest, as far south as you can go in the Osa peninsula was something I needed to see. When my girlfriend and I found Casa Tres Peces we thought we had the perfect destination. We drove from San Jose to see as much of CR as possible and have that freedom and proximity of experience that you get with a car. On our way, we were constantly immersed in breathtaking sceneries: mountains, rivers, creeks, trees, plants, flowers everywhere, wildlife and the magnificent coastline. As we approached Cabo Matapalo this precious environment turned more rugged, secluded, unspoiled, varied and intense. The property surpassed our expectations. Casa Tres Peces is a gem of an open tropical house, perfect for the climate and built with great taste. The garden is landscaped preserving the natural habitat and the blue waters of the gulf crash at your feet. The house is completely off the grid and provides all creature comforts via its ecologically sound infrastructure: 12v power with solar panels, spring water, propane fridge, etc. We fell in love with the place and felt immediately at home. Life in Cabo Matapalo is dreamlike precisely because of the reality and impact of its natural beauty. You are within walking distance from secluded beaches, surfing breaks, trails to heights overlooking the open Pacific, a waterfall, and even to a couple of beautiful places to have dinner at. Everywhere you go and whatever you do the immersion in nature never breaks and you are bound, at any time, to cross a troop of monkeys, hundreds of scarlet macaws or a number of other species. If you stay at the house, they come to you. Howler monkeys will wake you in the morning and get you going with the rhythm of the forest and the tides. Discuss all practical matters with the owner: Darren. I had a lot of questions and he was always available, thorough and his advice for the journey and stay was crucial. At the house, you have caretakers Cristian and Lala. Cristian is nothing short of amazing. He can solve any problem with a smile and in no time. Thank you Darren, Cristian and Lala for making this unforgettable time at Casa Tres Peces possible!
