This lovely and private garden suite is located in a beautiful fully-renovated heritage home in a friendly and vibrant neighborhood. It is attractively furnished and is comfortable and spacious. The suite has a private entrance and a beautiful garden patio.

Perfect for travellers of all kinds who are tired of hotels with no kitchen facilities, looking for some authentic neighboorhood feel, or visiting with relatives and friends but want their own space too. If this describes you, come and stay in our little hideaway while you are in Vancouver! Whether you are vacationing with family, travelling on business, here with the film industry, or a government employee temporarily assigned in Vancouver we offer a comfortable and affordable furnished suite for your short term stay. Convenient central location with easy access to all the amenities, you are a two minute walk along our quiet tree-lined street to the best part of fabulous Commercial Drive, with shops, groceries, restaurants, live music/entertainment, recreational facilities and the greatest selection of coffee shops anywhere!

By car you are just a 8 minute drive to the city center and a 30 minute drive to any location in the city, from the beaches of Kitsilano, to the mountains of the North Shore, to the BC ferry portal to the Gulf Islands and Victoria. We are very close to public transit: buses are a block away, Skytrain (rapid transit) is a 12 minute walk. Many guests opt to go car free as travelling around the city is super easy, but if you have a car, we have a large off street parking space just for you.

About The Owner

We love living in this beautiful 1910 heritage home in a prime heritage area of Vancouver, and sharing the Commercial Drive area with visitors from all over the world. Vancouver is indeed a visitors paradise and we enjoy the great variety of people who come and explore its many hidden gems.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2009

Commercial Drive is one of the trendiest areas in Vancouver and a fabulous place to visit. The house is on a quiet street 1 1/2 blocks from the best cafes, restaurants, live music clubs and bars, shops, produce and health food stores. There are fitness facilities, banks, groceries, transit, and a liquor store all within minutes from home.

What makes this apartment unique

Our house is over 100 years old. She celebrated her 100th birthday in 2010. Over the last several years she has had major renovations to every sector of the home, including the suite. The suite is a new installation including both kitchen and bathroom and has not been rented prior to this listing on VRBO. The entire house, including the suite, has retained its heritage charm and combines the best of modern and heritage living.

A Home Away From Home

We stayed at the Graveley Garden Suite for four weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the suite, the surroundings, the patio areas and the parking facilities. The suite had everything we needed and more. It was clean, well furnished, quiet and comfortable. The location was great, near fresh veggie and fruit markets,shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. A very interesting an diverse neighborhood and only a block away from Commercial Drive. The owners Susan and Leslie couldn't have been nicer, more helpful and made us feel right at home. We have recommended this suite to our friends and would definitely stay there again.

We couldn't have been happier with our week at this apartment. It was quiet, it remained cool - despite hot weather - the decor has soft, relaxing colors and the attention to detail shows throughout. The apartment is nicely furnished and has a full kitchen with everything you could possibly imagine and of very nice quality. There is off-street parking and the apartment is close to lots of fun and trendy shops and restaurants and transportation - so you really don't need your car most of the time. The two patios are in a lovely garden setting. We found ourselves forgoing some sightseeing, preferring to come back to the patios just to hang out. The landlords, Leslie and Susan are friendly and helpful and their recommendations proved to be some of the highlights of our sightseeing. . We hope to come back for two weeks next time. Loved this place!

Home Away From Home!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely garden suite for two weeks in the early summer of 2013. Our son moved to Vancouver in 2010 so it was time to visit him. The Graveley Suite was very comfortable, our wonderful hosts had thought of everything. The listing description was totally accurate. It was so lovely to walk the short distance to Commercial Drive to shop for groceries, dine at one of the many fabulous restaurants or hop on a bus to a downtown location. We enjoyed relaxing in the lovely patio area surrounded by beautifully presented flower beds and containers. Our daughter and her partner joined us for a few days at the garden suite and were also impressed by their comfortable surroundings. We are so pleased that we chose this place to stay for our holiday on the west coast and were able to visit our son (walking a few blocks away) and to relish a few family get-togethers at "our place".
We have been recommending the Graveley Garden Suite to friends and relatives - based on their interest, Leslie and Susan may well be seeing more New Brunswickers in the future.

We stayed here for one week from June 08-15 2011. The accommodations were wonderful. There was everything that you would ever need in the unit & then some. Right down to umbrellas & reusable grocery bags. Leslie & Susan were so were accommodating. They had terrific suggestions for site seeing. Coffee shops, fresh fruit & veggie shops,restaurants & liquor store were no more than a 5 minute
walk away. We bought fresh meat & veggies & used the BBQ many nights. I would highly recommend this unit.

We stayed for six days and enjoyed every minute. The apartment is clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need for cooking and entertainment. There is a huge television and a selection of DVDs although we didn't hang around watching TV. The sitting area outside is a wonderful addition - it's sheltered so you can even sit out there in the rain (which it does a lot in Vancouver).

The location couldn't be better. We had a car but never used it as public transport is so good. It's out of downtown Vancouver which can be reached in about 20 minutes using the skytrain.Everything you need is on Commercial Drive just a block away. There is even a walk in medical centre which, unfortunately, we had cause to use. The doctor and the pharmacist couldn't have been more helpful. It's a great base to stay, particularly if you're around for a week or more. Pure relaxation and a home from home.

The laundry facilities are accessed in the main house which is an inconvenience for the owner rather than for the visitor. The owner was very helpful at all times.

I've already recommended this apartment to friends and I'd certainly stay there again if I'm lucky enough to get to Vancouver.

we spent 2 months here mid Jan to mid March 2011 Excellent location for public transportation access, food stores , fruit & veg markets & lots of cafes. Lovely restored homes & lots of places to walk to. The suite has everything you need for a short or long stay, is very clean & quiet. The hosts Leslie & Susan are friendly, helpful & go out of their way to meet your needs. We will recommend the Graveley Garden suite to our friends & hope to return ourselves someday.

Notes A cleaning fee of $60 applies if stay is less than 4 nights. Our monthly rate applies to a 30 day period.
The nightly rate for 3-4 guests is $120.00 per night. Please request a quote for a longer stay for 3 - 4 people.

Special note: We are fully booked until January 2016. For those of you who come every year, please try us again in 2016 when we will offer a special rate for returning guests!
We charge 50% at the time of booking, with the balance payable 45 days in advance of arrival (60d for > 1 month). Cancellation policy: For bookings cancelled 45 days or more in advance (60d for > 1 month), a refund less a $150 fee will be provided. For stays cancelled within 45 days of arrival (60d for > 1 month), we will refund your deposit less $150 if the suite is re-booked for your dates.
