Overview

Oakland Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This recently remodeled open concept loft is a ten minute walk to the 19 St BART, a few blocks from Lake Merritt, a Whole Foods market and downtown Oakland. Coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries, and dance studio spaces dot the immediate neighborhood.

The architectural appointments of this cityscape studio merge past and future, with oak floors, exposed brick walls, glass brick room dividers, stainless steel appliances, and granite counter tops. The view from the living area is of an enclosed patio roof garden and the condo space includes a full size, fully equipped kitchen, separate eating area, and bathroom with tile shower. A floor to ceiling curtain may be used to divide the space into two semi-private sleeping areas. One contains a new queen-sized bed, the other a double-sized convertible sofa bed.

Beautiful Loft - IFFY neighborhood

  • 3 of 5

The loft was immaculate and close to many fine restaurants, but the neighborhood itself was sketchy and we felt a little unsafe, especially after our car window was smashed the first night when we parked right across from the building. I know this can happen anywhere - but check out the area first. The location is near several fabulous restaurants, however, parking is a hassle. The 24-hour Taco Bell next door was not an issue and was not noisy.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry about the break in to your car the first night you were our guest. As you said, this can happen anywhere, but its more likely to happen in an urban setting. Our neighborhood has a hard working neighborhood association and we have asked for the police to be a bit more on the lookout. Koreatown Northgate (KONO) is part of the new Oakland - a lively and diverse business district with an Art Murmur Gallery Art Work on first Fridays and seasonal music programs through the year. Folks can check out the neighborhood and what's scheduled at http://koreatownnorthgate.org/

Great Romantic Urban Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed this cozy loft. The place looks just like the photos and we had everything we needed for our romantic weekend. We would definitely stay here again should our travels bring us to Oakland. It is very centrally located and has many attractions nearby.

Owner's Response: I often learn about the near by attractions from guests. And depending on the purpose of their visit, certain features stand out. A comfortable and convenient romantic urban getaway is definitely one of our specialties.

Good Choice in Oakland

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in this property twice. My first stay was a few months ago.

Pros:

- looks exactly like the photos

- convenient location near BART, Lake Merritt and Whole Foods

- useful amenities such as pre-filled shampoo and conditioner bottles

- keyless entry

- reliable wifi

Cons:

- Alas, it is Oakland. There were recent vehicle break-ins, as evidenced by the broken car window glass. Don't leave valuables in your car.

- Open layout means that the apartment gets chilly easily. During my first stay it seemed impossible to get warm, but the heater was working well during this stay.

I do work in San Francisco, and find staying here to be quite convenient. I can take BART or drive directly to the city if I'm in the mood for gridlock.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this beautiful Oakland loft. The loft is so comfortable, with everything you could need. The kitchen was the best part...nicely stocked, with nice appliances. We did not have a car, and it was VERY easy to get around...only a couple of blocks from the BART. The owner was great with communication, and always answered emails quickly. The building and neighbors were very quiet, it did get a bit loud at times because of the Taco Bell drive up that is close, but this is a very urban area, so some noise is to be expected. I would highly recommend this loft for a stay in the Bay area!

Nice experience

  • 5 of 5

The condo is very well kept. Stayed with 2 children, 8 and 11 years old. Kitchen was very well equipped. Host refunded the security deposit in about 2 weeks after our stay. Thank you. Will recommend to my friends.

Delightful!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with VRBO and it was fantastic!

The loft was exactly what was shown in pictures. It was clean, well taken care of and secure. We had a car and were able to find parking along the street or in a public garage.

The only small issue was the 24 hour Taco Bell drive through just outside the building...however this did not deter from the great experience we had in the loft.

It was really nice to be able to eat meals in the loft and save some money while on vacation. The kitchen amenities were in great condition.

Sheila was quick to respond to phone calls and e mails. The correspondence she sent regarding the loft was clear and descriptive and helpful upon our arrival.

I can't wait to go back to the Bay Area so we can stay here again!
