NEWLY RENOVATED ARTIST LOFT IN HISTORIC BUILDING NEAR ~BART~

Oakland Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This recently remodeled open concept loft is a ten minute walk to the 19 St BART, a few blocks from Lake Merritt, a Whole Foods market and downtown Oakland. Coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries, and dance studio spaces dot the immediate neighborhood.

The architectural appointments of this cityscape studio merge past and future, with oak floors, exposed brick walls, glass brick room dividers, stainless steel appliances, and granite counter tops. The view from the living area is of an enclosed patio roof garden and the condo space includes a full size, fully equipped kitchen, separate eating area, and bathroom with tile shower. A floor to ceiling curtain may be used to divide the space into two semi-private sleeping areas. One contains a new queen-sized bed, the other a double-sized convertible sofa bed.

Delightful!

  • 5 of 5
This was our first experience with VRBO and it was fantastic!

The loft was exactly what was shown in pictures. It was clean, well taken care of and secure. We had a car and were able to find parking along the street or in a public garage.

The only small issue was the 24 hour Taco Bell drive through just outside the building...however this did not deter from the great experience we had in the loft.

It was really nice to be able to eat meals in the loft and save some money while on vacation. The kitchen amenities were in great condition.

Sheila was quick to respond to phone calls and e mails. The correspondence she sent regarding the loft was clear and descriptive and helpful upon our arrival.

I can't wait to go back to the Bay Area so we can stay here again!

Oakland charmer

  • 5 of 5
I spent a week in this lovely condo visiting family without a car. The location is great for Bart and bus access to anyplace you want to go in the Bay Area. Plenty of places to eat and to sample the cultural diversity of Oakland. There is a funky theater (The New Parkway) within a couple of blocks that serves food and indie movies. The condo is very quiet, comfortable, and has everything one needs for a nice stay.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5
The loft rental was amazingly perfect for us. We had a beer garden with great burgers across the street; a market and great coffee shop were super close-by. We had a car but we were able to walk where we needed to go in Oakland. Sheila had the place well stocked with everything we needed. The building was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and the place really felt like home. I am from Austin and the area reminded me a lot of up and coming East Austin. Great experience!

Owner's Response: I love the comparison to the up and coming end of Austin. Our neighborhood has been renewing itself with art galleries, coffee shops, and a special art event every First Friday night. We're now known as Koreatown and the shop owners and home owners have been working together in a neighborhood association to make our part of town comfortable and enjoyable for visitors and locals as well.

comfortable, elegant

The loft was a wonderful place to come back to after hectic days visiting family. We enjoyed the loft for its open space and airiness, cleanliness, and order. We appreciated the tasteful, comfortable furnishings, including cotton sheets and towels! The hostess was very responsive and friendly.

Quiet Oasis

  • 5 of 5
I recently had to spend time in Oakland while my brother was in Kaiser Hospital.
[Broadway/McArthor]

This place of beauty and quiet was an oasis in the midst of the chaos of the hospital.
It was easy to grab a bus on Broadway to get to and from the hospital.
Restaurants, my bank, CVS... all were close by and in easy walking distance.

I found a delightful little place called Loring Cafe/Bar on Grand,
just off of Broadway,
as well as a sweet coffee shop just two doors down from it.
[I don't remember that name....sorry.]

A street artist sketched my portrait one afternoon....
such a fun memento of my time there !

I arrived by Amtrak at the Jack London Square
and took the bus up Broadway to 19th.
I took the Bart when I left straight to the Oakland Airport.

Sheila was prompt in responding to any questions/concerns I had,
and I can recommend this place easily.

NOTE: Oakland is a city that does include street people
as well as fabulous cars, beautiful people and great views.
