This romantic Paris apt, is only steps away from the historic Place des Vosges, Bastille Opera House and fabulous shops, restaurants and museums for which the Marais is so famous!
Carefully decorated, the apt is furnished with stately 18th-century Swedish Gustavian and French antique furniture and Murano chandeliers. The living rm/kitchen occupies the corner along the avenue and enjoys the finest views of the bustling, fascinating life of Boulevard Beaumarchais. Compact but fully equipped, it features modern appliances, new cabinets and granite counter. The bathroom has a Miele washer/dryer.
In addition to two beautifully furnished bedrooms, the apartment also has a spacious office with internet/tel/fax to keep in touch with home, allowing you to concentrate on enjoying fabulous Paris! All seven soundproof windows face Beaumarchais, bathing the apartment in sunlight and offering exquisite views of French architecture and glimpses into Parisian life!
This was our first try booking an apartment over a hotel. We were quite worried about sending money to someone without any real security. Philip made us feel safe as can be. Overall the trip went perfectly with someone meeting us at the apartment and checking us in. The apartment was very nice and completely equipped for daily use but I would not want to cook a complex dinner there. The check-in person noted the farmers market was open (twice per week) and we rushed to buy some food for our stay, a great option for fresh foods and cheeses. With the wine shop and excellent bakery next door we were set. Check hours of each as they are not open daily. But being able to eat a nice breakfast with fresh pastry every day for cheap really cut down on expenses. The location is perfect, not too close to tourist areas but well within walking distance of everything. The apartment was very comfortable and we loved it! There is a little traffic noise but not too bad. Do walk up away from the bastille to the shopping areas Rue Britagne. Toward the bastille is the tourist area. There are a number of used camera stores near the apartment so if you are lusting after an old film camera this is the place. There are also a number of good French restaurants in the area. We would do this again!
My family and I have been fortunate to be able to visit Paris a few times now over the last few years and this apartment plays a large role in our return trips. The apartment is not only elegant and finely decorated but it is inviting and cozy as well. The floor to ceiling windows allow in great natural light as well as panoramic views of Parisian city life, all the while evoking an almost treehouse feel as you are nestled amongst the tops of the chestnut trees. There is plenty of space to be had and all the amenities of home. The location is perfect as it's just a short walk to many great sites, parks, museums, and markets. It's a true pleasure and gift to be able to stay here. To make things even better, the host has always made a great effort to see that we were comfortable and felt at home. We hope to visit again really soon. Thank you!
We read the reviews about this apartment and didn't believe it could be possible. having just finished a week long stay, may i say that we have never lived in such comfort. the spectacular views (both day and night), quality of light and attention to every detail made our stay a delight. truthfully i am taking many ideas back home with me as i would like to live this way every day! probably not easy, given the fact that my family lives in new york city, so the open air market and chic cafes are unlikely, but the understated elegance and luxury awaiting guests is not to be missed. our stay in paris, which was full of excursions to museums, shops and good restaurants, was great fun and the apartment was a welcome refuge at the end of each day. this goes down in my book as one of the happiest memories ever.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. Large living spaces, very bright and in a great location. In our future Paris visits, we will now enjoy apartment living versus hotels. Loved the market nearby and the bakery across the street. The only drawbacks are the noise on the street (Boulevard Beaumarchais) and the lack of air conditioning. This is not a quiet neighborhood.
The apartment is well equipped and decorated beautifully.
This apartment is amazing!!! It feels so much like a true home when you stay in Paris. Every room is warm and inviting. Every view from every window is filled with energy and light.
The bedrooms are comfortable and a welcome place of rest after a long day of traversing the Paris streets. The office area is a great place to work and send home notes and pictures about your stay. The kitchen doubles as both the finest restaurant where you can cook up a true French meal with the items you bought at the near by market, and an elegant cafe where you can eat those dishes while the city passes below you.
Philip, the owner, is extremely helpful and always there to answer your questions.
There truly is no better place to stay in Paris.
Thank you for all of the wonderful memories.
This is a review of our interaction with the owner, Philip. I think the manner in which the property owner deals with the renter says a lot about the whole experience. After looking for weeks to find a place in Paris, we sent a request for this lovely property. Philip was prompt in his response and very helpful. He was a dream to deal with. In the end we had to change our plans and did not take the apartment. But, I must report that the owner, Philip, was extremely kind and helpful. He was gracious even though we cancelled and for that reason alone, I would recommend this apartment.
