Drive up the country road, over the roaring gorge of the Williams River, past farms and hillsides. Turn onto the long driveway, pass the sparkling pond. The air is fresh, the view is beautiful, and the house is comfortable. You have arrived.

Let the kids run off their energy in the huge, mowed yard, while you read that novel in the hammock or go fishing in the pond. Take a nice nature hike, cool off in the pond, throw dinner on the grill, then build a campfire, roast some marshmallows, look up at the stars.

The property is located on a beautiful winding farm road, just minutes from the interstate yet a world away. Okemo Mountain Resort is just 30 minutes away in Ludlow, and Ascutney Mountain just 20 minutes. Nearby attractions are Grafton Cheese Factory, Vermont Country Store, and Wellwood Orchards. The home is just of Route 103 which was listed as one of Vermonts' most scenic drives. Just 2 and 1/2 hours from Hartford CT, and Under 3 hours from Boston MA.

Notes: Linens and towels are optional. Sorry, washer and dryer not available at this time but a great laundromat nearby can handle wash-dry-fold by the pound. Lots of extra child/baby care items available upon request including gate, bed rail, infant tub, booster seat, etc. Kitchen is well equipped for a cook, has cappuccino espresso machine, Pond is great year round for swimming, fishing, ice-skating, canoeing. Property is ideal for bird watching, nature walks, campfires, and stargazing.

Perfect Secluded Vermont Cabin

This is an absolutely wonderful cottage. It is secluded on the end of the road with a lovely view of a small pond. Though there is a house relatively close by, you cannot see it from the cottage. The cottage has both a rustic and a homey feel. As soon as we got there, we felt right at home. 5 of us (+ 1 dog) stayed here without a problem. I wish we could have stayed longer. Furthermore, we went skiing at Okemo during our visit and its only a 20 min drive.

The descriptions the owners give is right on the money. There are 2 'official bedrooms', one with a queen and one with a full bed. There is also the loft space with two twins but there is no door to this space. The large couch is also a pull out, but we didn't use that. There is also a fireplace and a wood burning stove. We were only there for a short time so we didn't use either of these but they are available. The table for dining will seat 6 or more. A nice feature. The whole cottage is well kept and well stocked. Everything we thought to look for, they had. The owners provided me with all the information I needed and the instructions were very clear. As an extra added bonus, there are wonderful pieces of art and unique pieces sprinkled throughout the cottage. The owners clearly care about the place and have worked hard to make it inviting.

If you are looking for a secluded spot, this is the place. We will definitely try to come back and I would recommend it to anyone!. Note: the owners aren't kidding about needing 4 wheel drive when visiting in the winter! :) LOVE LOVE love this place.

Beautiful location

The property was in a beautiful and quiet location(except the neighbor's roster).The kitchen was well equiped and the house was clean.We were close to New Hampshire for tax free shopping.The only drawback was that there was not any comfortable seating,the sofa and loveseat are overdue to be replaced.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Yes, I admit the couch is not the greatest, but it is not old-just not well constructed. Most pet friendly places have much older furniture. The couches are 5 years old. As for the rooster, he is 1/4 mile away... But I can understand that this would bother some folks. I am glad you enjoyed everything otherwise!

**UPDATE** Adjustments have been made to the couch, it offers more support now!

Fun winter getaway

Clean charming cottage. Very warm and cozy place to stay on a cold winter day. Not to far of a drive from the Vermont Country Store. We enjoyed sleigh riding in the back yard after a snow storm... plenty of fire wood was provided for us to last the week.

A wonderful week at your charming, homey cabin! A lovely, woodsy setting, and an excellent location for day trips to quaint towns. Clean, comfortable, relaxing. Great email communication with Cathy, the owner, leading up to our trip. A perfect babymoon for my husband and me (and little Reece who is with us now)!
