ART FILLED POST AND BEAM HOME WITH TROUT FILLED POND IN WOODLAND COUNTRY SETTING

My family stayed here and drove to Londonderry for a scenic view of the autumn multicolored forest. We had an excellent lunch at The Grille there. Nearby towns are worth the drive. Chester is like an old postcard that came to life. Visit the shops in Bellows Falls just down the road on 103. The whole area is charming, interesting, filled with history and picturesque. The location of VCL is easily accessible but still feels remote. The property is rustic with minimal privacy between rooms, but that said I would recommend it for close-knit groups or families. The owner Catherine was accommodating in all respects. We especially appreciated the baby accessories she provided. I would go back there and recommend it to the traveler who takes "The Road Less Traveled". Not your Holiday Inn experience!
Great for people who like art, open outdoor spaces, and quiet.

This is an absolutely wonderful cottage. It is secluded on the end of the road with a lovely view of a small pond. Though there is a house relatively close by, you cannot see it from the cottage. The cottage has both a rustic and a homey feel. As soon as we got there, we felt right at home. 5 of us (+ 1 dog) stayed here without a problem. I wish we could have stayed longer. Furthermore, we went skiing at Okemo during our visit and its only a 20 min drive.

The descriptions the owners give is right on the money. There are 2 'official bedrooms', one with a queen and one with a full bed. There is also the loft space with two twins but there is no door to this space. The large couch is also a pull out, but we didn't use that. There is also a fireplace and a wood burning stove. We were only there for a short time so we didn't use either of these but they are available. The table for dining will seat 6 or more. A nice feature. The whole cottage is well kept and well stocked. Everything we thought to look for, they had. The owners provided me with all the information I needed and the instructions were very clear. As an extra added bonus, there are wonderful pieces of art and unique pieces sprinkled throughout the cottage. The owners clearly care about the place and have worked hard to make it inviting.

If you are looking for a secluded spot, this is the place. We will definitely try to come back and I would recommend it to anyone!. Note: the owners aren't kidding about needing 4 wheel drive when visiting in the winter! :) LOVE LOVE love this place.

The property was in a beautiful and quiet location(except the neighbor's roster).The kitchen was well equiped and the house was clean.We were close to New Hampshire for tax free shopping.The only drawback was that there was not any comfortable seating,the sofa and loveseat are overdue to be replaced.
