We had an amazing time in Clearwater during the "beach week" of our vacation. We've only ever rented condos for vacations, so we weren't sure what to expect with a house rental. Our experience could not have been more perfect. The house and cottage were exactly as advertised, and our family + friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
The North Beach neighborhood is beautiful, and this property is literally across the street from the beach (32 steps!). My wife and I envisioned a place where the kids could come and go down to the water to their little hearts' content, and because the house is so close to the beach that's what they were able to do - morning, noon, and night (incredible nights on the beach!). Access to Pier 60 was within walking distance - our older teenage kids and their friends had so much fun going back and forth - eating at Frenchy's Rockaway for lunch and just enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells as they strolled the beach.
This property had so many little extras that really made the difference. The bikes in the shed were a big hit with our older kids, and our 14-year old son became an expert at skim-boarding thanks to the boards that were available. Our 11-year old son and I had a great time building a sand castle with all the sand toys! The wireless internet was great, and the cable TV was nice for down times. All of the beds were comfortable and clean, and the climate controls were excellent.
This trip was a graduation present for our 18-year old son and his friends - we came all the way from Salt Lake City, Utah to enjoy the parks in Orlando, but we added a week at Clearwater, and we're so glad we did. Our entire group absolutely loved the experience. In fact, the Villa we rented in Orlando for our 2nd week - although it was newer - was just not as cozy and comfortable as the 32-Steps house and cottage. The entire reservation process right through check-in and check-out was so easy!
Our week at Clearwater tops the list as one of our "best-ever" vacations. Thanks to Dana and the housekeeping crew who made it so great!
