Cabin Setting:
The cabin has one quarter of a mile of shoreline and 13 acres of heavily wooded land which affords you a degree of privacy seldom found. Situated on point, the cabin overlooks a 105-acre lake (30 feet maximum depth) that provides excellent fishing with northern pike, various panfish, bass and some walleye present. A plus for the younger non-swimmer is the shallow depth at shoreline with gradual increase in depth. No drop offs. A 16-foot fishing boat with 25 hp. motor as well as a canoes, rowboat, and kayak are available. Additional photos can be seen at… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar935txNgJ8
Area Activities:
Plan a canoe trip down the Yellow or Namekagen River, both close at hand. Play golf at the Spooner Country Club or the renowned Voyager Village course, both open to the public. Visit the Tommy Thompson fish hatchery in Spooner, largest in the state and tours are given. Go to the Potter's Shed in Shell Lake and watch them fire Raku pottery or have them glaze your own pot. Hike the trail through the wooded 13 acres surrounding the cabin--you might surprise a deer. Play tennis on the Olympic-sized court right on the property. There is a basketball hoop if HORSE is your game. And, of course, fish and swim.
Great fall hunting (deer, ducks, grouse), leaf viewing, and cranberry picking on the property. Enjoy the winter with warm fires and downhill skiing at Telemark and cross country on Lake McKinley. Snowmobiling and ATV use is easy with many bordering trails. Excellent ice fishing just in front of the cabin.
