Pitsidia Vacation Rental villa: Pitsidia, Southern coast of Crete

We loved our holiday in Villa Aphrodite, a privately situated house amongst olive groves. It is the perfect place for relaxing, whether on the balcony enjoying the amazing views or lounging by the pool. The villa is very spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and well maintained. The owners are excellent and will do everything they can to make sure you have a wonderful holiday. Their homemade olive oil and honey is delicious and their raki is the best we have tasted. Their hospitality is unsurpassed and they certainly made our holiday very memorable.
The area surrounding Villa Aphrodite is good for walking and wildlife. It is relatively undiscovered by tourism and would suit those wishing to get away from it all. A very short walk from the villa will take you into the centre of the traditional picturesque village of Pitsidia where there are supermarkets, car hire, tavernas and some restaurants selling delicious Cretan food. The small village square is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing evening in one of the two restaurants - Eva’s and The Meeting Place. Both are equally excellent and the owners are very hospitable. On the main road is a kafenion, and several more good restaurants.
The long sandy beach of Kommos is within 40 minutes walk or a few minutes drive from villa Aphrodite. The beach has one taverna serving refreshments and food. Loggerhead turtles nest on the beach in protected areas and the archaeological site of Kommos is nearby which has prevented any major tourist development of the beach.
Matala is busier than Pitsidia and is within 40 minutes walk but there is a fairly regular bus service. Here you will find the small bay and the famous caves, lots of shops selling local crafts, a market, numerous tavernas, restaurants and bars.
Moires is 10 minutes by car, offering lots of shops, supermarkets and a market on Saturdays. The Archaeological site of Phaistos is near Moires.
Overall Pitsidia and Villa Aphrodite is a good place to be based if you prefer a peaceful holiday. We had an excellent time.

Was ein Superurlaub! Die Villa ist sehr schön, groß, super ausgestattet und sauber(toller Service!), hat einen atemberaubenden Blick, einen schönen Pool und liegt sehr schön eingebettet in der dörflichen Umgebung. Man hat unzählige Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, Strände und das wunderschöne Dörfchen Pitsidia (mit schönen Tavernen) in Spaziernähe. Iris, die Vermieterin ist hilfsbereit, aufgeschlossen und supernett. Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an so wohl gefühlt und wollten gar nicht mehr nach Hause. Für Erholungssuchende und Abenteurer gleichermaßen zu empfehlen!!! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Gemütliches und sauberes Haus. Platz genug für 6 Personen.
Ruhige Lage, weit von den Touristen und vom Modernismus , ganz in der Natur (besonders schön im April!)
Vielleicht ein bisschen entfernt von den touristischen Attraktionen (Rethymon, Chania, Malia, Agios Nikolaos, Samaria ...).
