. Having bought the property in 1992, I was able to have the pick of the best view lots in Tamarindo with the easiest and closest walk to the town (less then 5 minutes) and the beach (just 10 minutes). Casa Bambora is just high enough to see over the tree tops and is one of the only lots in Tamarindo with unobstructed views of the San Francisco Estuary in the Las Baulas National Park as well as spectacular ocean views of Playa Langosta, Tamarindo and Playa Grande.

I'm from Huntington Beach, California. I spent many years traveling to the tropics, mostly Hawaii and mainland Mexico to surf in the warm clean water. I finally made it to Costa Rica in 1992 and discoverd Tamarindo. It was everything I was looking for and more. Nineteen years later I'm still here and still loving it.
Joey purchased this studio in 1992
Why Joey chose Tamarindo
I came to Tamarindo in 1992 on a surf trip and fell in love with the place!
After having spent the previous 12 years traveling to Hawaii, Mexico and Fiji for surf, I finally made it to Costa Rica, a good friend of mine had been to Tamarindo and told me that it was similar to Hawaii, but less crowded and more affordable and I should check it out. Back then the population was less than 100 people, it was quiet and the weather was great as well as the surf. I knew right away this is where I wanted to live. Real Estate was still inexpensive and I basically had the pick of the litter as far as lots were concerned. It's been 19 years I've seen lots of changes, but I still couldn't think of a better place to live.
