You can't get any closer to the ocean. Very wide balcony overlooking the Atlantic and just steps to the water. Fall asleep listening to the surf. Building has just undergone a complete exterior renovation. Interior of unit has been redecorated displaying local art work. The condo has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Great surf casting from uncrowded beach. Close to historic Fernandina Beach with its Victorian homes, lots of restaurants and shops and charter cruises. There is even a ferry to downtown St Mary's Georgia. Walk to the city recreation center and enjoy the large heated pool. The condo owners developed the restaurant in a former Victorian home at 29 South 3rd St. The chef is consistently voted the best local chef. Dine in or call for take away and dine on your lovely balcony. Your stay comes with a $25 gift certificate.

The island is mostly a bit of 'old Florida'. The historic downtown is a walkable/bikable area of quaint shops and Victorian cottages and homes under a mantle of Spanish moss festooned live oaks. The downtown waterfront is a stop on the inland waterway. There's a museum downtown too. The oceanfront, where our condo is located, and about a mile from downtown is mostly single family homes. There are not that many condos and, if the city fathers have their way, there will be no more. At the southern end of the island is the Ritz Carlton with a number of elegant restaurants and facilities. In many ways, then, the island community is a wonderful combination of the old and new.
