WONDERFUL STAY!!!

This is a very "clean & comfortable" vacation home, accurately described and in a superb location to anything you might want to do or see in RI. Ted, the owner, is a very gracious host and made sure we had "everything" we needed at our fingertips! Bedding was very comfortable and home is located in a very quiet area! We would stay again without a doubt - just love the area!!!

Fabulous Girls Weekend - BREATH TAKING VIEWS

Ted,

We had a wonderful time at your place on our annual girls weekend. AM- coffee in hand, outside for the fab water views, off in the canoe- lounged on beautiful sprawling lawn admiring the inlet - PM - prepare great dinners, back outside - couldn't get enough of the picturesque views. Next day- woke up & did it all over again. Ted thx for being a gracious host- I do believe we will ONLY be renting from you from now on for our annual girls weekend at the beach. The house had all that we needed & the view - you have to experience it to believe it - the slow flowing inlet & casual kayaks & sm boats, the sun dancing on the water, fish jumping out of the water - we were immediately mesmerized by the sight and feeling of tranquility - at Ted's place. We thank you again for your hospitality. The pictures of the water views we took can't even compare to the images in our minds of sitting right there so comfortably, letting the views "melt it all away" - you walk away from Ted's feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. It is all about location, location, location - and Ted has quite the location. Did I mention the views??? Thx Ted!!!

MORE THAN I BARGAINED FOR

We booked this house to stay in during our son’s wedding. We arrived at the agreed time to find Ted, the owner, not only still in the house but sprawled on the couch complaining of a sprained ankle, wearing nothing but gym shorts. He told us that he hadn't finish cleaning the bathrooms or prepared some of the beds. I offered to take care of all of it myself since we were anxious to unload our car & needed him out to resume our plans for the weekend. This fell on deaf ears, he did however, tell us lengthy story about falling downstairs & being beaten up by a cab driver. This was followed by an interesting 90-min tour of the home, blaming previous tenants for the uncleanness. Ted then told us that he needed to shower & that after he was finished WE would have to drive him to the train station. This of course was never mentioned or agreed on in any of our previous communication. At this point we were extremely confused & angry & left to begin wedding preparations with our son & hoped that when we returned, the house would finally be ready & Ted would be gone. This was not the case. We returned 3 hrs later to find him still milling around & annoyed that we had left & continued to insist on a ride to the train station. My son & future daughter in law had to drive him to get him out, apparently that was the only way he was going to leave. Unfortunately he dampened the start of what we hoped to be a memorable wedding weekend. The house itself is shabby to say the least. It’s cluttered with mismatched furniture, antiquated appliances, outdated books, & old VHS tapes. All of the non-original construction is amateurish, slapdash, & barely finished. Much of the electricity in the house comes from an upsetting network of extension cords & power strips. Ted warned me not to use any hairdryer in the upstairs bathroom over 1000 watts, I could see why. The wood of the deck is so dangerously rotted that it sagged to the point that we hoped not fall through & the door is warped and doesn’t close. On the upside, we did find the house clean, but after Ted’s shower, he did not clean the downstairs bathroom, in fact his gym shorts were still on the bathroom floor. The yard is massive & somewhat maintained & the view over the water is unbeatable. It’s sad to see a property with such potential wasted, it’s such a beautiful location. In closing, I cannot fathom how this place received positive reviews. We paid for 4 nts but left after 2. I think that says everything.

Owner's Response: There is no accounting for taste, as can be seen from the majority of reviews of my house. I believe that the tenant is not qualified to comment on construction. I grew up in the business. I am qualified. All of the furniture, books, and videos can be seen in the photos posted on HomeAway. I asked for a lift to the train station. I did not insist on it. If necessary I'd have walked -- even with the sprained ankle. I don't use the sole cab company in the town since one of their drivers assaulted me. The deck does not sag, and the front door is not warped. Most of the appliances are new. The tenant asked for early arrival, and I complied saying that the cleaning might not be done by then. I left the tenant with a clean, and functional house. I even phoned her during her stay to ask if all was well. She assured me that it was. Accordingly this review baffles me.

Peaceful, quiet, and a great view

A few of my girlfriends and I rented this home for an extended “girls” get-a-way weekend (Fri-Mon) during the off season. The home is set back making it the perfectly quiet place for some good quality time. The home itself is spacious enough for entertaining (especially the kitchen area) and the owner was very accommodating. We spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the water – such a great view. This is a place we will most definitely visit again. I’m even thinking of renting w/ my family during the peak summer season.

Great Kayaking

I spent a week at this rental and was very satisfied. The owner was very welcoming, and made a point to make sure we knew where everything was located. Large well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. The land, view and dock are the clinchers for this rental, as the view is spectacular both from the deck and down at the dock. The dock afforded us kayaking everyday!! Thank you Ted, we hope to get back there again next year!!

Comfortable and Convenient

My husband, two teenage sons and I have just returned from three nights in this very comfortable house. The homeowner was very helpful and accommodating - made us feel welcome right away. The house was all we needed. There was plenty of room in the kitchen and living room and clean, snug beds. We quickly fell in love with the area and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beaches and towns nearby. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely see if this house is available.

Golf: The house is within walking distance of two public golf courses. Each is about 1/4 mile from the house.
