Our house is located on a private cul-de-sac street that is only 50 meters from the Fort Lauderdale Beach. Highway A1A (our cross-street) is the primary, ocean road that runs from Miami north thru Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach. Fort Lauderdale's primary nightlife and beach-front restaurants are only a 2 kilometer (1+ mile) walk/drive from our street. The famous Galleria Mall with exclusive stores is a 1 mile drive while Sawgrass Mall with hundreds of outlet stores is 30 minutes away. Supermarkets, movie theaters, golf, restaurants, and nightlife are all short drives from our house while Downtown Fort Lauderdale/Las Olas Boulevard is a great venue for art stores, boutiques, nightlife, and high-end restaurants. Boating/fishing excursions, jet skiing, and parasailing are all offered nearby on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The port for the major cruise lines out of Fort Lauderdale is a 10 minute drive while the Fort Lauderdale International Airport is a short 15 minute drive from our house.
Household Amenities: Our house has a few extra amenities for both children and adults. In the backyard, we have a swing-set with a baby swing as well as a regular swing. Also attached to the play-set is a double-swing and a slide. Our daughter loves this play-set! Also, there is a removable safety fence encircling the pool to prevent accidents for small children. A very important safety feature that allows children to play in the backyard without fear they accidentally fall into the pool. We also have a wide array of board games and card games as well as a Playstation for video games.
For the adults (or kids!), we have boogey board for the ocean along with a floating mat. Furthermore, in the bonus room off the suite we have a full set of 'free weights' with dumbbells, a bench-set with a pull-down and 300 lbs. of weight. We also have a exercise ball for sit-ups. Of course, there is always jogging down the beach or biking in the Nature Park located directly behind our street!
