A true Italian seaside gem!

Villa Constanzo is a true gem, right in the middle of all the action in Positano! Sparkling clean and the view... oh, the VIEW! Photos just do not do the view justice.
The owner, Edmundo, did a very thorough job of showing us around the apartment, making sure we knew where everything was and how everything worked. The apartment is just incredible - everything from the tile flooring to the architectural details, there is beauty everywhere! The beach is literally steps from your front door, the bus stop is a short walk 'up' into the center of Positano, and there are so many wonderful restaurants and cafes surrounding the villa!
Unfortunately our flight was cancelled the day before we were set to arrive and our travel itinerary was delayed 24 hours. Edmundo was so understanding and allowed us to cancel one night of our reservation, with less than 24 hours notice, with no cancellation fees. Upon arrival, we were exhausted from our extended travels, and Edmundo pointed out the two folding chairs in the hallway of the villa - "Put those on the balcony and put your feet up and relax," he said. We ordered a pizza and a bottle of wine to go from a little place just steps from the villa, and did just that - views of the twinkling lights throughout the mountains, romantic lighting from the restaurants on either side, the gentle seaside breeze and sounds of ocean waves crashing right in front of us, and both travelers and locals laughing and having fun below us - perfection!
Our one word of advice for those traveling to Italy - get your hands on an Italian sim card for your phone. We saw them for sale at booths in the Rome airport. If you're renting a private villa, you may not have access to a phone or WiFi (Villa Constanzo had neither during our stay.) You may not think you'll need to use a phone, but making dinner, taxi and excursion reservations would have been much easier if we could call from our phones. There are pay phones around, but they have spotty service and aren't easy to use, and we encountered many that were not in working order at all. Edmundo and our taxi driver, Salvatore, were both very responsive via email and we did not mind at all heading out to one of the restaurants or cafes who had WiFi (every place we went offered this service to patrons) so we could communicate via email. Just a heads up!
Overall, we highly recommend Villa Constanzo for a truly wonderful Positano experience!
