This cabin is by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The management has thought of everything you could possibly need. We could not come up with anything we could possibly want for that they did not provide. The inside is furnished and decorated beautifully, and the views are fantastic!! Even though the weather kept us from going fishing in the bay, we had a great time just hanging out, cooking, eating, drinking and playing games. We are already planning to come back next year and stay longer. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay here.
This cabin worked great for a family of 6 plus a 9 month old for a couple nights. We had concerns that the size would work for us, but the owner was very responsive and confirmed that it would. The 3rd bedroom could be a little more private since it only has a curtain separating the beds from the living room. Otherwise, the other bedrooms are large and in a quiet location in the back of the house. The tub in the master bedroom is deep and you can enjoy the view from it. The kitchen / living room is modern open concept with high ceilings and top of the line kitchen equipment (I had a field day making dinner on the Viking range). The deck is nice, although we didn't use it much and you can walk out of the yard to the stream that runs just behind.
- Beautiful finishes and open concept layout.
- Well furnished and kid-friendly (2 pac-n-plays!)
- Great location relative to Seward and the surrounding wilderness recreational areas.
- 3rd "bedroom" / bunk room is really more of a nook.
We decided to stay in the Seward area for a few days before our cruise and take in some of the activities. We had a party of 4 adults and 3 kids and didn't want to spend $250 a night on multiple hotel rooms. This property was a GREAT find for us.
The cabin is about 10 minutes from Seward and next to a glacial river/stream (literally outside the door). The inside of the cabin is fabulous. A great kitchen with great appliances and its stocked very well. Spices and herbs and items that you might have to go and buy are already there. It came in handy for us as we had breakfast and dinner at the cabin.
Internet service and satellite tv (nice flatscreens) are there. Bathrooms are well stocked with shampoos and soaps.
Its just a great great property. We saw a few bald eagles outside the cabin.
Also hats off to Judy for giving us a little gift for our anniversaries. A nice bow on top of the great present of a property.
What had such a great time during our too brief of a stay here. The house is in a great location, easy access to downtown Seward, grocery shopping, restaurants, and activities. The setting is beautiful. We were lucky enough to have sunny days, and views of the glacier from the kitchen window were amazing. The kitchen is just great. We have never seen a range hood that large in a private home. We took full advantage of it when we cooked fresh halibut we purchased in town. We had a great day on our Kenai Fjords tour. We saw porpoises, humpbacks, orcas, puffins, sea lions, and one adorable sea otter. We enjoyed Exit Glacier and wished we had more time to hike the Harding Ice field trail. If we ever come back to Seward, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
This was one of three VRBO rentals we stayed in while in Alaska. The location is lovely and it was amazing to watch bald eagles right across the stream from us. The house is well equipped but when we were there the washing machine did not work, the computer did not work, the coffee pot had a broken handle and we had to contact the manager to find out how the in floor heat worked. We were there near the end of the season so perhaps that explains it. It is a large house with an amazing kitchen with high end appliances and pots and pans. Everything was clean and as presented on the VRBO website.
We satyed here for three nights in late July. Believe all of the other positive reviews. The pictures do not do the place justice. We had rain and/or mist for almost all of our time there so didn't get much of a chance to see the views in the pictures. However, the deck is covered so that you can sit outside and relax even when it is raining.
The cabin was claean and extremely well equipped and is well located about 10 minutes from downtwon Seward. It was also equipped with a computer so that you could do internet searches for attractions, restaurants, etc in the area.
Highly recommended for a family
