Photos and Description of the Hendersonville vacation rental
1 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, Other (See Description), Sleeps 4
One of Asheville's hidden gems, this historic 200 year-old log cabin sits on over 5 acres of peaceful grounds. It shares the property with another 200 year-old cabin which is not available for rent. Two small streams provide plenty of natural splendor with abundant birds and an occasional red fox.
The cabin is made of old growth Chestnut timbers which in some cases are almost 3 feet wide. The floors are beautiful wide plank maple. There is a loft with a Queen size bed and Temperpedic mattress with Matouk linens. The loft looks down on the spectacular stone fireplace whose crackling light fills the room with a glowing hue. The living room has comfortable leather furniture and is decorated with relics from the owners travels and exploring: a fossil collection of sharks teeth, arrow heads, Civil War era bottles, hundreds of books for the most eclectic reader, and a flint lock gun over the fire.
The kitchen is prepped for the most accomplished of chefs. A full set of French stoneware awaits the presentation of your culinary delights. There is a dishwasher, oven and stove with above mount microwave and vent. The Corian counter tops add to the luxury. In the corner of the galley style kitchen is a full sized stack washer and dryer. A Cuisinart, rice cooker, Caphalon cookware, complete knife set, coffee maker, vegetable steamer, ice cream maker, full set of spices all await your inspiration.
This very private estate is amazingly just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. Live music, great restaurants, some of the best micro brews around and perfect people watching are among downtown Asheville's attractions. Located in south Asheville, the cabin is minutes from numerous great grocery stores (a new Ingles, Earthfare, and Harris Teeter). The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a seven minute drive away, making it the perfect launching pad for outdoor activities in the mountains.
Flat Rock, Hendersonville, and Brevard are all short drives away. Pigsgah National Forest with thousands of acres to explore is about 15 minutes near Mills River. Extraordinary fly fishing on the Davidson River with native rainbow trout is about a 20 minute drive.
