Built during Laguna’s beginnings as artists' colony, the historic Elan Cottage was completed in 1918. Lovingly maintained to honor her heritage and maintain her true self, the rustic craftsman cottage, built with redwood throughout, has hand blown windows, hardwood floors, crystal doorknobs, plentiful skylights, and original artwork. The cottage was recently refurbished to add many amenities including a large sleeping loft for more guests, dining room and a modern kitchen and appliances.
From the idyllic neighborhood, you're on the water in a flash--just a couple of hundred steps--or stroll to elegant or casual restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. Nearby are eclectic shops and boutiques, and of course, numerous galleries for almost any taste and style. Experience the Élan Cottage and experience Laguna Beach the way it was meant to be, the real Laguna Beach.
You're in the middle of Laguna's favorite resident "Street Beaches": Brooks St. Beach, Thalia St. Beach, Oaks St. Beach for sunning and great surfing, boogie boarding and skim boarding or sunning and ocean swimming. These are the coves for which Laguna Beach is famous. The cottage has an outside sand shower to knock the sand off you when you cone back from the beach. Also, There is patio dining in the rear yard with barbeque pits.
Serenity is living in the tradition of the Village Laguna area of Laguna Beach with its quaint cottages, quiet streets and a host of people who enjoy life at the beach. If you like art, the cottage is full of it. The owner is an art appraiser and it shows in the decor and art.
Enjoy a walk on the beach or around town. If you like to walk, you don't even need a car at the cottage. Walk to some of the best restaurants in Orange County. Enjoy the nightlife. Enjoy the Festival of the Arts with the Pageant of the Masters and the Sawdust Festival in the summer or take in a play at the Laguna Playhouse.
At Main Beach you can watch some of the best two man & two woman beach volleyball in the U.S. and some of the best urban "Pick Up" basketball in Southern California. Make no mistake about it, This is "Life at the Beach" in Socal.
