Shark Key is a peaceful, gated private island located just a ten minute drive (Mile Mark 11) from Key West and features its own beach, tennis courts, clubhouse, and lagoon. All the homes on the island face the open water of the Gulf of Mexico where there are always cooling breezes..
This luxurious 3 bedroom three and a half bath home sleeps 6 and has its own private pool and large gazebo at the waters edge.
Designer elements abound including new polished travertine and gleaming hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, walk-in closets, en-suite resort bathrooms, private balconies off each bedroom, walls of glass overlooking the ocean, a free form swimming pool and poolside gazebo. Bedrooms feature high end furnishings, walk-in closets, memory foam mattresses and are dressed in high end linens. A convenient laundry room and pantry are located just off the kitchen on the main living level.
As you enter the front door you walk into an amazing open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and a two story atrium over a sitting area off the living room. The kitchen features beautiful granite counters, wet bar, high end appliances, custom cabinets, wet bar, wine cooler and a sweeping breakfast counter. You’ll enjoy the spectacular views from the wall of windows surrounding this amazing space while listening to the whole house stereo. The entire first floor is surrounded by spacious decks which are perfect for lounging, or sunning. There is a spacious dining room and a comfortable living room featuring fine furnishings.
Off the hallway is the entrance to the well appointed laundry room and the guest bath with an amazing glass vessel sink. At the end of the hall are two spacious bedroom, each with their own walk out deck and en-suite bath. One of the baths is all marble and features a Jacuzzi tub.

Sliding Privacy doors block off the stair to the master suite on the second floor and recess into the wall revealing the wide winding staircase should you want to leave them open. The Master Suite is the epitome of sophistication and also has vaulted ceilings. The bedroom itself is over 20 feet by 15 feet and has a sitting area within it as well as doors leading to it’s own balcony. A hallway leads from the bedroom to the dressing area with built in cabinets and a huge walk in closet is just off of it. The resort custom bath has a huge walk in shower with insert glass tiles and a modern double basin sink. Of course you can control the music system from either the bedroom or the bathroom.
This was once the home of the actress Kelly McGillis and was totally renovated since she moved. Only the finest in luxurious finishes were used in the renovation and the house has always been a single family residence.
