Overview

Brighton Lodge Rental Photos and Description

Lodge, 6 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 3.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 23-25)

History, family and beauty can all be found in this beautiful unique spot in Brighton Utah.

Our Alpine Lodge completed in 2008, sits on one acre of pristine forest next to Silver Lake. Skiing and snowboarding at Brighton Resort are close enough to walk, and if your passion is Nordic skiing then you have world class snowfall and skiing from our door and on to the groomed tracks of the Solitude Nordic Center. A beautiful mountain setting, brand new kitchen, hot tub, laundry are all here. 2000 sq ft of decking insure that you will enjoy the mountain air even if you would just like to sit in a chair.

The decor is warm and natural with stone, slate and special features including a wood burning stove with fuel provided. A giant antique bathtub will delight you and a steam shower will warm your bones after a day on the slopes. Second floor decks make you feel as though you are in a tree house in the woods.

Kids love climbing the ladder to the upper loft that is full of toys for them. After the sun goes down, you can light a fire, push the remote and the flat screen HD TV pops up out of the credenza. Cool summer nights, bright autumn days and the best skiing on earth are all right out our door.

PLEASE NOTE

In an effort to keep costs low for our travelers we do not allow credit card payments . We accept checks only along with a signed rental agreement. The rating you see on this page reflects the fact that we do not allow payments through VRBO's new system. If we did the bottom line that you pay would be 10% more. We like to keep fun affordable.

About The Owner

My Grandfather bought this property for his wife in 1890 and built the first cottage for summer use. We have just finished a brand new Lodge, custom built with rocks and trees from this property. It is so peaceful here in Brighton, and I am proud to continue the legacy of our family in the Alpine Lodge. I want to share this so others can make great childhood memories too.

The Owner purchased this lodge in 2009

Why The Owner chose Brighton

Skiing and winter sports, cool summers and the simple beauty of the High Mountains bring us to Brighton, Utah. Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and downhill skiing as well as snowboarding are here and in the summer we ride our mountain bikes, hike and watch the abundant wildlife. Brighton ski resort, Solitude Nordic center and Solitude Ski resort are all next door. Snowbird and Alta are just 30 minutes away.

What makes this lodge unique

Moose live nearby and we see them often. The lodge sits on a private tree covered mountain forest bordered by a stream next to a meadow that leads to Silver Lake. Walk on the boardwalk around the lake with great access for strollers and wheelchairs, and fish or row a boat in silver lake. The beautiful stone fireplace warms you as you light a fire and cozy up together on a leather sofa. This is a one of a kind place with great skiing for all ages and our lodge is especially great for families.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay at the Beginning of the Ski season was great! The house slept all twenty in our family easily and the kids didn't want to leave. Skiing was great at Brighton, and it was so close to the resort we never started our cars. Clean, bright, fun, woodsy and private. We will be booking again!

Fantastic Spot!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week at the Alpine Lodge with 2 other families. The lodge is very well equipped for a group and so convenient to Solitude and Brighton and the Nordic center. Despite warm temperatures when we arrived, we were treated to 10" of fresh powder on day 2! We took advantage of skiing, boarding, Nordic skiing and snowshoing. The owner was easy to work with and recommended a great caterer so we could host a team dinner for my son's hockey team and families in SLC for Nationals. We hope to be back to the Alpine Lodge next year!!

Another great ski vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had such a good time last year at this cabin that we and the same families from last year came back again. We had a good range of kids from 2 years old up to 15 years old and they all had a great time. The close proximity to Brighton is just awesome and makes getting to and returning from the slopes incredibly convenient (most days we came home for lunch). The hot tub and sauna were great and the huge deck out back provided a great little 'sledding hill' for the kids. We appreciated the gift basket on arrival. The night time view of Brighton all lit up for night skiing is amazing. Just a great place for a large group to get together and enjoy each others company. We already have our security deposit down for next years trip!

Great family ski/board getaway

  • 5 of 5

With a few other families we shared this cabin for a wonderful ski and snow board getaway. The cabin is fantastic for families with kids. They enjoyed the hot tub, the toy loft, steam shower and huge TV. The parents enjoyed the close location to the slopes as a number of us had small children learning to ski or board for the first time. It was very convenient to ski with them and then take them back to the cabin when they got tired. The location is so close that you don't lose much time in the process. Great kitchen, comfortable lounge areas and fantastic views of the Brighton Resort. We have also come in the summer time (July or 2013) and it is beautiful in the summer time. You can walk to Silver Lake and we saw a number of deer and moose which the kids thought was great. Just an overall wonderful place to stay.

Great Venue for anything!

  • 5 of 5

I have now stayed at this locations twice. Once in the summer for a large work event, and once in the fall with a much smaller group. There is no better place, especially if you choose to hike, fish, or sky. The owner was a pleasure to work with, and has made the process so easy that I will surely visit again!

We LOVED it! Perfect for anyone.

  • 5 of 5

This place was wonderful! We stayed there over presidents day weekend 2011 and had a fabulous time at home and on the slopes. They had it all at the house: the fabulous luxury of enough space for a very large group, enough bathrooms, a large kitchen stocked with enough dishes for cooking and feeding a large group. The best thing about this house was that while it was wonderful for us when we were all there it was also just perfect for the littles when they were home with a small group during the day. The house had everything for every need and we hope to return soon. Brighton, Solitude and Alta all rocked us with over 30 inches of fresh powder during our 5 day stay. We would come back from a hard day of skiing to find the driveway plowed (sometimes twice a day!) and the hot tub and steam shower ready to soothe our tired bones. We loved the fireplace, the toy loft, the beautiful construction and the kindness of the owners. Our only suggestion: make sure to rent a 4-wheel drive if you are coming during ski season! It will just make a wonderful stay all the better. But really, the place is so great you might want to skip the 4-wheel drive just to get snowed in!
