Our guesthouse - "The Red House" is an original 1902 Venice Beach craftsman that we lovingly restored in 2007. Our property is situated in the historic Venice walk streets that are directly behind the ocean front walk. The cool breezes and ocean sounds will lull you to sleep at night and lure you out to the beach and all the Venice action during the day.
You will be a 1 minute walk to the world Famous Venice Beach boardwalk which is filled with shops, restaurants and an eclectic fare of performers, skaters, beach-goers, art galleries, surf rentals and lessons, bike rentals and miles of the most beautiful bike path in the city that runs right along the ocean front from Redondo Beach to the south and Malibu to the north.
You are also a 5 minute stroll on the ocean front to Washington Blvd which has many restaurants, shops and the Venice Pier which is a beautiful stroll out atop of the ocean and you can fish there as well. A 10 minute drive to the north finds you in Santa Monica, home to the famous Santa Monica Pier which includes Pan Pacific Park with a carousel, a ferris wheel over the ocean, games and more. down the street is the 3rd street promenade with restaurants, shops, movie theatres etc..
Our beautiful guesthouse has original 100 year-old wood floors, windows, moldings and built in cabinetry. The kitchen and bathroom have been completely remodeled with new appliances and fixtures (except for the restored original claw foot tub!). The Red house is an open and very comfortable space that is ideal for families and guests to enjoy the beach life, Venice style.
The downstairs is studio-style. There is a queen bed in a "bedroom" that is open to the adjacent couch. Upstairs in the very large sleeping loft are 2 queen air-mattresses. The loft has very low ceilings which is not so great for standing but fantastic for sleeping. The Red House is fully equipped for both short and long stays. The kitchen has everything you will need to store your leftovers or cook a gourmet meal. Come and stay at the Red House and find your new home away from home here in Venice Beach.
