Family reunion weekend and gift exchange

Our extended family is from across Washington state so Cle Elum was a fairly central location for a reunion weekend. The Big House Lodge was a fantastic find. This is a beautiful huge log house with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace.Seeing it from the outside doesn't give you a clue how amazing it is inside. There are six bedrooms with their own private baths with varying bed sizes. There is also an upstairs bedroom with large bunk beds and it's own bath. In the downstairs area are more mulitple bunk beds, the only drawback to those being no bathroom downstairs. In addition to all those beds, there are mattresses that can be put out wherever needed. We had thirteen different households there for our gift exchange on Saturday afternoon, a total of 42 people. Ten of those households spent at least one night. The kitchens are amazing. There are three ovens, two dishwashers, three refrigerators, and a commercial ice machine. The house was well stocked with dishes, cookware, and bedding. The only thing that wasn't supplied and we didn't think to bring was bar soap for the showers. There was plenty of room for everyone to help with cooking or just sit and visit. The owner was great and even made sure to have the house, which was clean and well maintained, decorated for us for Christmas. The only negative thing I can think of is the dartboard and the downstairs tv didn't work. The cost is reasonable when split among a large group and the time together was amazing. I would definitely recommend this property. We are hoping to make this a yearly affair. If you're looking for a good restaurant I would definietly recommend Sunset Station in Cle Elum. They have amazing homemade ravioli but I have never had anything there I didn't enjoy. Their breakfasts are amazing too - think berry crepes.
