Stroll or pedal only 3 blocks toward the ocean and you are in the heart of Venice’s renowned Boardwalk, with its entertaining mix of performers, vendors and local characters, only steps from the surf and sand. Spend the day in a beach chair or explore a little further, riding on the bike path to Santa Monica and its Amusement Pier or to Manhattan Beach and beyond. The vibrancy of this unique spot on the California Coast will fill your day with energy, and yet when you return to the house and its quiet locale, you’ll hardly believe all of that was so close by!

The house itself welcomes you with its sheltered front porch and lush garden. Step through the front door and into the open living room. Its original 1910 details mesh beautifully with the vintage west coast style of its furniture and art – feeling fresh yet with a sense of history. A candle-lit hearth, an array of books and a 42” LCD HDTV and state of the art home theater/ipod system complete the picture. Open to the living room is the light filled dining room. Its hand-built cedar slab dining table and vintage upholstered chairs are typical of the thoughtful style and craft the house is infused with. We have provided a full set of serving and dining ware for your enjoyment. Directly adjacent to the dining room is the newly remodeled kitchen. Its vintage charm and modern equipment make it both inviting and functional. Stainless steel designer fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven combine with an original and fully functional beautiful vintage gas stove. The custom walnut cabinets have gleaming quartz countertops and contain a set of everything you need to cook your favorite meal. Or, step outside and barbecue on our Weber gas grill. The kitchen also has a glass door and breakfast counter that look out onto the private rear deck.

Upstairs are the two bedrooms and bathroom. The master bedroom is spacious with huge vaulted ceilings, light from windows on 3 sides and a skylight. It also has the added feature of a custom walnut writing desk and ipod stereo. Both bedrooms feature premium Calvin Klein linens, ample dresser storage and cedar lined closets. The remodeled light-filled bathroom features a deep soaking tub, modern chrome fixtures and handsome vertical grain fir shelving. And because of the house’s thoroughly modernized plumbing system, the water is instantly hot and the pressure’s great!!

Outside in the back is the rear deck and its giant bamboo stand - the perfect private hideaway for reading, lounging, or outdoor showers in the sun. The private detached studio/creative office has its French doors open onto the deck, emphasizing the California indoor/outdoor lifestyle. A large skylight floods the studio with light making it a perfect for both work and relaxation. A 6ft desk, printer & Wifi add to the functionality of the space.

If you have a toddler or infant, a crib and high chair are provided.

The house has private gated parking – A MUST on busy beach days in Venice!! At other times, parking is usually available on the street in front of the property.
