The Bluemoon is situated at the end of a long white-sand beach, directly on a small private cove called 'Rose Cove' by the locals. A few steps are all that separate you from the brilliant blue Caribbean waters. The large elevated sundeck provides spectacular views of the South Palmetto Point beach and sunsets over Pineapple Cays just a short distance offshore.
This spacious home can sleep 11 people in four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, a private bathroom and a view of the ocean. The other three rooms have a combination of full beds, single beds and a pair of bunk beds. Each room is individually air conditioned for your comfort. The living room and kitchen area are open and fresh with lots of windows and views of the water across the deck. Shade from the tropical rays is plentiful in the Bahamas room, which is screened in and connects the sundeck to the rest of the house.
The Bluemoon is the ideal location to soak in the tranquil sea or have a sunset cocktail on the deck or our small private beach. Excellent restaurants and the Runaway Bay Marina are near by.
Our caretaker can meet you at Governers Harbour Airport, handle any problems during your stay and can also arrange rental cars or Taxis. Call and we would be happy to fill you in on all that Bluemoon and Eleuthera has to offer.

We loved our stay at Blue Moon! We had 3 couples and one young child. And there was still an empty room. The house is spacious and great for large groups and families with kids. The kitchen, living, and dining area are all connected so there is plenty of room for everyone to hang out together or separately. There is also a large screened in porch area with a porch swing as well as a large deck with close up views of the bright blue Caribbean! The landscaping is beautiful and created total seclusion so that you can not see your neighbors at all. Make sure to check out the little stone paths that wind through the garden around all the amazing flowering tropical plants. The property has its own private steps right into a secluded cove! THE SNORKELING IS AMAZING right off the steps! You can also go fishing or kayaking right out of the backyard, and there is a fish cleaning station by the water, (and a grill on the deck). The back yard has a beachy sandy area with a giant old sea grape tree for shade. Great for laying out and for kids to play in the sand. There are also child friendly beaches nearby and they are all different: some are in bays shallow with no waves, others have waves for surfing, others have amazing reefs for snorkeling. All will be the most beautiful most secluded beach you have ever been to! The kitchen was well stocked and there are plenty of sheets, bath and beach towels, and washer and dryer. You will need to bring your own soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. There are 2 full bathrooms with showers (one very nice newly renovated!) and one "men's room" with just a toilet. The house is just right, clean and well decorated, but not too fancy so that you don't have to worry about your sandy feet. It is very relaxed and you will not want to leave! Definitely rent a car (a jeep or 4-wheel drive if you really want to explore the island). The locals are very friendly and helpful and it is impossible to get lost. There is a little town with a bank, grocery store, liquor store, and gas station near by. There are also lots of nice little restaurants all over and an organic farm with fresh veggies. Fresh catch of the day at the docks! The island will satisfy a group of people with all different interests: Nature, historic arcitecture, fishing, eating, swimming, and relaxing. The price was amazing especially split among a group. The kitchen and dining area are well suited for people who enjoy cooking. We will be back to Blue Moon for sure!
We had three couples stay at Bluemoon for five nights. The open floor plan of the main living area was spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of bedrooms that could easily accommodate large groups. With all of the windows, there was never a need for air conditioning as being on the water gives you great ocean breezes. The kitchen is well appointed and the only appliance it is missing is a microwave, but we never noticed until right before we left. There is a new bathroom which is quite nice and spacious. There was always plenty of hot water for all six of us. You do need to supply toilet paper.....not a big deal as it's available at the convenience store down the road. It was clean and is definitely someplace I would stay with my children.
As for location, the cove that it's in is BEAUTIFUL! We had a blast snorkeling and kayaking. My brother was able to kayak out to a pod of dolphins. We also caught crabs along the rocks. Rays visited in the morning. Had a Bon fire at night. There is a big beach just down the shoreline that's great for sunbathing and beach combing.
There are also so many amazing beaches within a short drive. I suggest driving south. Some of the beaches were the most beautiful I have ever seen. Just south on the main highway is the Island Farm. The produce is outstanding along with the bread twice a week. Get in line early! Great fruits, beautiful greens for salads and incredibly beautiful mint for mojitos! Take a drive to Tarpom Bay. Buy some lobster from the fishermen at 3:00. Get some conch salad from Billy and he will prep your lobster for the grill. Best meal we had!
The negatives......and they are minor! Yes, there are bugs. Welcome to a tropical island. Sugar ants appeared every morning. Don't leave anything out and just wipe them up. No big deal. Noseeums are nasty little buggars that are out at dusk and dawn so use bug spray. There are little things about the house that go hand in hand with ocean property and maintenance. There is no Home Depot down the road and the salt air is hard on Everything! To be expected, but nothing impeded our vacation. It is not a fancy marble estate, but it is clean, comfortable and in an amazing location. Howard, the owner was easy to work with and had plenty of information for us and the caretaker Arthur was helpful as well. The Internet did go out for a few days......island wide.
I don't usually visit the same place twice, but I am definitely returning with my kids and grandkids!
Hi, It is me the owner again back to say the bathroom has been completely renovated ! Hooray!I think you will be pleased !

Thank you, Welcome and enjoy your stay at Bluemoon a great choice for large groups as well as honeymooners! The master bedroom "Pink Sands" is perfect for honeymooners overlooking the beautiful Caribbean ocean relax to the rhythm of the ocean waves!
This was our first experience with a VRBO and fortunately, it worked out very well. This place is in an excellent location on Eleuthera, if you have a vehicle. The view was fantastic - the water was amazing - the house was great for the 7 of us (four adults - three kids) - and everything was in working order. It was nice to have access to a washer & dryer (clean towels are important) and the kitchen was worked out very well for all of our dining needs :)
The house is spacious - it was clean (with the exception of some dishes, but c'est la vie) and it was breezy, which was fantastic on those hot days - and there were many!
The reason we gave it an average rating is because we felt that the house could use some TLC and we wished we had been warned about the ants and the noseeums - and there were MANY! The ants got to be a little much - we had to purchase bug spray - they were EVERYWHERE.
The beds could use a new mattress and some new sheets - they were not the utmost of comfort, but again, it was not enough to ruin the vacation. The bathrooms need some love - a lot of rust and an odd smell - although the showers worked well and hot water was never an issue. The property itself is BEAUTIFUL! We were never bothered by anyone, it was very quiet & extremely relaxing.
We wish we had had access to kayaks and that the screens on the house kept the noseeums out (THEY WERE BAD - bring strong feet) - but all in all - it was a great vacation on a gorgeous island with some amazing beaches, people and food!
Things to consider - bring snorkeling gear, beach towels, your own laundry soap and bug spray. Be prepared to pay $$$ for things like milk and pop, but use this as an opportunity to try new things. Bring LOTS of sunscreen and ENJOY! :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Eleuthera. The people were very friendly and helpful. The beaches, water, and snorkeling were great. We would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to just relax and enjoy the weather and beaches. If you want jet skis, nightclubs, and lots of entertainment, you are on the wrong island. But, if you want great views, uncrowded beaches, good rum, and an interesting cultural experience, this is a great spot.
The Bluemoon location is wonderful. You will have your own private cove with a rocky shoreline and sandy bottom for swimming. The beach area above the rocks is sandy and a great place to lounge. There are steps into the water so you can walk right in. The house has a great layout for 2 or 10 people. The bedrooms are separated from the living area which is nice for those people who want a little privacy. The place was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is not luxurious but it is very comfy. Be prepared for more of a third world experience if you go. Food is expensive and the grocery stores are small. Most stores are closed on Sundays and holidays. Rum is cheap - beer is expensive. You can bring in some provisions and we would recommend that, especially if you plan to cook at home or want specific foods. Renting a car is a must if you want to experience the island. Get a good map, they are available at some of the stores and the Rainbow Inn has the best one for $10. Even with a map, it can be a challenge to find places at times. Hope you enjoy the place as much as we did.
