The home sits on 17 acres.
We have owned this property for 60+ years. We first vacationed in a 100 year old farm house. This home was built in 1976 after the farm house got too much to handle. We once had a 15x30 ft in ground pool!. The pool was fed by the creek water. brrr .lol We hope you find the 17 acres fun to explore.
Bernie and Roberta Tennant purchased this chalet in 1951
Our family has enjoyed this property for generations. There is a 1+ acre field in the back of house that the whole family can enjoy.
The creek in the front of the cottage is just amazing. Kids of all ages love it. Catching crayfish was always my favorite and now is my grandson's favorite. Building dams and wading and 'dipping' is so refreshing on a hot summer day.
We all enjoyed our stay. Our children enjoyed the creek and are already planning our return. Thank you for a relaxing family get away
We arrived there after a lot of correspondence with Roberta the Owner and it was like we knew her already. She and her family were there when we got there and helped us settle in before leaving. We have lived in the Laurel highlands before and this property was a huge hit with the kids. My 2 year old loved the creek on the property as did my 7 year old. This place is a few miles from Ohiopyle and we went there one of the days and played in the river and cucumber falls. It was great to get away from the City and relax. We went berry picking around the property and about and feasted on some wild raspberries and blackberries. The kitchen is well equipped. The weather was awesome and we even roasted some marshmallows in the firepit. Its quiet and yet connected to civilization. We make it a weekend of unplugging our Ipads and such and that was a joy but there is WIFI if you do need it. We even went to Pittsburg one of the days. Falling Waters is a hop and skip away too.
All in all a wonderful place to unwind and we will be back for sure.
We had a 6 adults and 3 children stay over the 4th weekend. The cottage was absoutely perfect. What a lovely place. The place was clean, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Everyone had their own space to go to when they needed but yet the living area/dining room/ kitchen lay out was perfect to hang out with everyone. Roberta was so amazing during the renting process. We emailed back and forth for weeks prior with just simple questions and converstation prior to our stay. When we got there, we did have a small question to ask and Roberta replyed back immediately with an answer. The creek was so much fun for the kids (and adults). We took the kids for a walk through the creek wood area. The kids played all weekend in the creek. There is a huge field above the cottage that is open where we were able to get a game of softball with everyone, have my boy (5years) practice his golf swing with some practice balls and let the kids run wild. Was all around a wonder experience and will definitely be booking in the future. Thank you Roberta for everything!
This house was perfect for the nine of us who stayed! It was only a drive up the mountain to Seven Springs, which was great. The house was very clean and had everything we needed, the owner even contacted us upon arrival to make sure everything was there that we needed. The owner is very prompt in getting back to answer any questions we had. The living room and kitchen were big enough to allow all of us to sit together, relax and hang out. I would recommend this property to anyone, from famlies to groups of friends! We will definitely be keeping the contact information and returning in the future!
We spent President's Day weekend at the chalet and had a great time! The whole experience from start (booking and handling everything with the owners) to finish was wonderful. Roberta and Bernie were wonderful to work with, answering all questions I had quickly and meeting us to show us everything we needed to know. The chalet was equipped with everything we needed from towels, to bedding to all the supplies to make big dinners! This made packing for the trip very easy! The kids loved sledding down the hill and throwing snow balls in to the creek and watching them float down. Sunday we went snow tubing at the resort which was just a short drive and the weather cooperated by dropping a foot of fresh snow! I definitely recommend this location and would stay here again!
I was very impressed by the location, cleanliness, coziness and hospitality of the owners! By far the best I've rented in this area. The price is very reasonable and the location was just right. The place was very warm and cozy and had everything you needed to make the trip enjoyable. I will definitely recommend and will hope to come again on my next trip to Seven Springs or Ohiopyle. I highly recommend for families and groups! Five Stars in my book!!
Enjoyed very much, only about 8 to10 minutes from seven springs, be careful which back roads you pick, some are very rough and 4x4 recomended. Our best way was closed due to birdge being out. We had great weather and plenty of room. An extra roll of paper towels and a bigger baking sheet or 2 of them would have come in handy but found everything else very useful. Only thing i would recomend is some ant killer, kept finding ants by back door and sink. Would deffinitly recomend and stay again!
