'ALOFT' ON JEKYLL ISLAND

Jekyll Island Studio Rental Photos and Description

Studio, Studio + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

(Please note-3 night minimum stay for July 1-July 10, 2014) We invite you to visit 'ALOFT.' We're located in a state park, and only 35% of Jekyll Island can be developed. We are surrounded by marshlands and the sea. Our property is situated on a quiet street, nestled between the marshlands and stately oak and pine forests. This beautiful 1000 square foot loft has a private entrance and on-site parking.

Just one minute away you'll discover the 18 miles of bike trails surrounding the island. You can bike to the fishing pier and beach and arrive in five minutes. Or, you may want to visit the Historic District, where over 300 millionaires once lived. They built homes and a Club House on our island, beginning in 1888. They typically spent 3-5 months down here yearly for the next 54 years. Their homes are being restored and many can be visited and appreciated.

We also have a world renowned Sea Turtle Center, where injured and sick turtles are flown in for surgeries and rehabilitation, and later released back to the sea. Bike toward the south and visit the Tidelands Nature Center, enjoy bird and wildlife viewing, or swim and sunbath on our 12 miles of white sand beaches. We have a seasonal Summer Waves Water Park, four famous golf courses, Red-bug Motorcar rentals, and carriage rides and trolley tours. Also, for the adventurous, scout out the hideaways of our local alligators! All this and so much more!

All activities are within minutes. Bed linens, towels and kitchen items are furnished. You bring food, toiletries and enjoy.

A 50% deposit is required for all stays and the balance is due 14 days prior to arrival. Deposit is non-refundable but may be used to change/reserve dates (pending availability) for up to one year after the original reservation date. Reservations less than 14 days prior to arrival require payment in full. 2 day minimum stay required for weekends. One day stays during the week will generate a cleaning fee of $35.

We await you at 'ALOFT' on Jekyll Island: 'Georgia's Jewel.'

Today was one of the most beautiful days we can remember. We saw the most beautiful birds (painted buntings) that we have wanted to see for a very long time. The beauty of Jekyll Island is like none other! Your home and "Aloft" is awesome!! I assure you, we will be back! Thank you for providing such a wonderful space to decompress.

Pam and Michael Mueller have lived in coastal Georgia for ten years. They met here in 1988, while studying law enforcement at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, GA. At that point, they made a pact that if they were to marry one day, they would return to live in the Golden Isles. Seven years later their dreams came true! Michael continues working with law enforcement, now teaching Physical Training to Homeland Security students at FLETC. Pamela has become a children's author. She has written eight award-winning books and will release her first adult book in 2010. The Muellers bought a home with an 'undeveloped' loft and decided to refurbish it and turn it into a rental unit. This has turned into a delightful abode, and they very much enjoy sharing their little piece of paradise with others.

The Owner purchased this studio in 2009

We remodeled the loft of our residence for our frequent guests and visiting family. When it is not occupied, we wanted to rent it out and share the magic of Jekyll Island with others who yearn to spend their free time in 'splendid paradise,' which incidentally, is the title of Pamela's new book and tells the story of Jekyll Island.

Benefits are mentioned in above information.

We had a great, relaxing time on Jekyll Island. Aloft is a very cozy place and Pam and Michael are very hospitable. The apartment has everything you need including a little kitchen!

Heavenly Haven

The pictures and description just do not do this place justice! The loft is huge, and so quaint, clean, and comfortable. I was hoping for a serene, pretty setting, and got so much more than I'd hoped for! Sitting on the patio amidst the tree tops, sipping wine and reading or enjoying conversation, was one of my favorite early evening activities. The island is so beautiful, and the people I met who were visiting are the friendliest I've met anywhere. I loved every minute of my stay, and cannot say enough about how much I liked Pamela and Michael and what fantastic people they are. I give my highest recommendation for Aloft!!

Sister's Retreat 2014

Sister's Retreat 2014

My sister and I spent 4 nights at "Aloft." This was our first time on Jekyll Island and the first time we ever rented a studio apartment. We normally stay in hotel's and this, by far, was the BEST. We dubbed this our home, away from home. Michael and Pamela welcomed us with open arms, a welcome basket, and flowers. All our questions about the island were answered, along with many suggestions of where to eat and what to see. This island is packed with history and there are many beautiful/stunning sites to behold. We enjoyed the Historic District, Driftwood Beach, the trolly tour which included going inside some of the winter "cottages" of the original Jekyll Island Club members, and the Turtle Museum/Rehab Center. There is tons to see and do. We loved it and loved being able to come home to our home, away from home. It was very relaxing. We had plenty of room and everything we needed. Since our own homes are filled with the pictures of our lives ... it was fun to see a sampling of the life Pamela and Michael shared in their pictures and books that decorate this beautiful loft. We would highly recommend staying at "Aloft." You will come home every night to a warm and inviting home. ;-)

Beach Traveler

We stayed at Aloft over Thanksgiving so we could enjoy a holiday dinner at The Jekyll Island Club, and it was perfect for us. The loft is huge, and the location is great for easy access to town, bike paths, restaurants, and the beach. We had all the amenities we needed and found the property very charming. The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful, and the entire setting is very appealing and relaxing.

Pristine, eclectic, warm, and well appointed, "Aloft" was the perfect spot for my little family's vacation. My two children and I greatly enjoyed the unique furnishings, the proximity to the beach, and most of all the hospitality of Michael and Pam. We would be happy to spend another week at "Aloft."

Great weekend visit!

  • 5 of 5
My boyfriend and I visited Jekyll Island recently for a friend's wedding. We really enjoyed our stay at Aloft. The owners were so welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. The personal touches (handwritten note and gift basket) were things that you would never find in a hotel. Aloft is in a very quiet neighborhood with quick access to just about anything. We had the opportunity to use the bikes provided by Aloft to bike all around the island. It was perfect! The restaurant recommendations provided by the owners were spot on. If we have the opportunity to make our way back to the island, there is no question that we would stay at Aloft!

Five minutes from Jekyll Island Historic District. For 54 years, from the Gilded Age to WWII, Jekyll Island was the second home to more than 300 Millionaires, who spent 3-5 months in their 'cottages' here. Their homes have been restored and offer an amazing glimpse into the past.
