Welcome to Maui's most exclusive, luxurious, and private beachfront vacation home - The Kahana Nui Villa: www.kahananui.com. We offer a custom built, tropically designed, oceanfront home for rent - by the week or month. The home is located within a few miles of Lahaina, Kaanapali, Napili and Kapalua Resorts. Our shopping districts, surfing spots, night-life, water activities and beaches rate number #1 in the world and are a few of the reasons West Maui is an absolute treasure. During the winter season, whale watching from the private deck and pool is outstanding! The whales are here from November through April and they swim by daily. Just steps from the pool is a quiet white sand beach occasionally frequented, when conditions are right, by local kite boarders, paddle boarders and local fisherman. You just have to see it for yourself. You can see more photos on my website at www.kahananui.com. Give me a call and lets plan your next vacation.
I live on Maui!! What more is there to say. I moved here from northern Michigan in 1987, raised a family and started a few businesses. I spend as much time as I can on and in the ocean. I love to swim, snorkel, boat, wake board, surf and fish. I am still hoping to learn to kite surf.
Suzy Moffett purchased this villa in 1999
This property is important to me because I live across the street from it and get to spend time here whenever the house is vacant.
The sunsets and view from the lanai are the most magical in the world and it never gets old.
We stayed at Kahana Nui for Christmas week in 2014. There were four families with kids. It was an amazing experience. The house is peaceful, right on the ocean, and large enough for 14 people to hang out without tripping over one another. The view and the serenity are unparalleled (and remember, this was Christmas week when the Islands are just overrun). We ate most of our meals in, and the kitchen accommodated us without problem. The beach is a little rocky, but if you walk down the street two houses there is a beautiful (and empty) sandy beach. There's a lovely little pool in the back with an attached hot tub. WiFi was fast and reliable.
We rented paddle boards from "Alex" at Maui Stand Up Paddle Rentals (http://www.mauisuprental.com), which we highly recommend. Launch right from the back door into the protected bay there. Alex and his crew deliver and pick up the boards for free and give you the necessary instruction (it's not hard).
An excellent experience. You won't go wrong.
Our family of 12 stayed here November 20-27, 2014. It was awesome! Can't say enough good things about this property. We all just loved it! My husband & I & his Mom had the bedroom suites downstairs & our sons & their family had the upstairs where there are 2 more bedroom suites plus 2 more rooms with each having twin beds for the kids. Each suites walks out onto the deck which goes all around to the front. Going to sleep each night listening to the waves crashing was awesome! It was so nice that we really didn't want to go out to eat we just cooked there! There were no problems whatsoever but we're confident that if there was an issue it would be taken care of! So many wonderful memories made here with our family! Would love to go back someday! I've shared this property with friends so to everyone if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay this is it!
Honestly, this has to be one of the best "large" rental houses on Maui, and I loved it. Not only was the layout perfect for my party of 8, but the pool and private beach front wtih a view of Molokai are absolutely stunning.
If your looking for a little slice of paradise in west Maui, with a private beach and surrounded by other world famous beaches, this is it.
I have waited to write because I wanted to see how I felt about a year later. Sadly I feel about the same. My family and 3 others stayed at the Villa for a trip of a lifetime. I was completely let down. For starters the house was not near as clean as I would have expected upon our arrival. There was an obvious oder. Upon inspection I saw 15 plus ant traps along the kitchen floor, not something you want to see right off. Going through the rooms it was clear there was an infestation. There was a colony of ants in the upstairs bathroom that covered the bathroom mat. There were ants in every room of the house. There was also a huge termite issue. Nothing like having to wear shoes your whole vacation. Several calls were left for the owner without an answer back. Finally half way thru the vacation someone was sent out with a can of spray. Not going to cut it. Oh and that smell that continued to get worse everyday.....dead rat behind the dishwasher. I was so so disappointed. Lets just say the money spent did not match the accommodations. I understand things cannot be perfect but this was so far from perfect. If these things did not happen I would have said it was average due to the cleanliness of the house and the beach access which is so rocky that even with water shoes on is hard on the kids' feet. Sorry to be a bummer on what looks so good in pictures but the pictures are deceiving. Not to mention little things like ants dont show up in pictures.
We rented the exquisite Kahana Nui for an extended family vacation and to celebrate a significant birthday. It is worth every penny to stay here. The home is as lovely as the photos.
There were 11 of us, and the villa worked out perfectly, with the 4 oceanfront master suites plus the 2 kid bedrooms. Two wonderful decks wrap around the whole house, and we were on these decks all the time, if we weren't in the lovely pool, enjoying a game of ping pong or just absorbing the spectacular view and listening to the sound of the surf. Once you have your groceries, you never have to leave. You have the best view on Maui looking out at Molokai, and as the sun sets in the evening, it is truly magical. We dined on the deck every night and didn't want to go anywhere else. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything any cook could want. There is a fairly good supply of kitchen staples - spices, oils, vinegars, flour, tin foil, plastic wrap, coffee filters. Plus there are 2 refrigerators. Several take out places are close by if you prefer not to cook. The place is a kids paradise. Our 3 grandchildren were in the pool all the time. There is a closet full of pool, beach, and sand toys, including 8 boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach shoes, and beach mats. There are also at least 12 beach towels. The beach by the villa has a lot of black lava rocks, not good for swimming. Around the corner from the house is a better beach. Inside there is a good music system, TV's in all the master suites, a 52" TV on the upper level, and lots of puzzles and games. The owners are easy to deal with and attentive to any questions or problems. They have truly thought of everything to give their guests a fabulous holiday full of wonderful memories. We loved our week and hope to return someday.
We recently stayed at Kahana Nui with a group of 4 families with small children. The booking and check-in process was very smooth. The house was very clean and well-stocked when we arrived. This is a gorgeous villa--beautiful carved wood furniture and doors, 4 out of 6 bedrooms look out upon the ocean, two large lanais with comfortable seating. The pool and hot tub were great (very clean) and the beach was just steps away. There are pool and sand toys, beach shoes, beach towels provided which was great. The beach just in front of the house is a bit rocky but if you walk a short distance around a bend there is softer, sandier beach. Perfect for kids.
I'm only giving 4 stars because some of the appliances in the villa need to be upgraded or fixed. While we were there the oven broke and intermittently the range would not light. The washing machine would get stuck sometimes mid-cycle. The dishwasher was falling out of its mounting under the counter. and the BBQ, though it worked, has to be lit by hand and blows out easily in the wind. However, the owner was very responsive to our calls; she sent a repairman out to fix the oven which got it going for our stay, and even offered to buy us take-out food to make up for it. She assured me she was going to be looking into the other appliance issues after we left. Assuming these things are fixed, we would definitely stay at Kahana Nui again--it's a beautiful home in a gorgeous, peaceful setting.
My beautiful vacation villa is set in the best area of Maui. It is right on the beach but we are also surrounded by the best beaches in Hawaii. Kaanapali beach is 10 minutes down the road and 5 minutes in the other direction are the beaches of Kapalua. Both of these resorts also have world class golfing. The Kapalua Adventure Center has opened up a new zip line. It is a beautiful, worthwhile activity. Also in Kapalau is a brand new spa that offers daily yoga and pilates classes for a very reasonable price. And my personal favorite thing about being so close to Kapalua and Hawaii only Ritz Carlton Resort are the nature trails that lead up a very steep hike to a duck pond. I do it every day.
