As you enter the lodge you are immediately struck by the soaring wood and beamed ceilings; the Louisiana cypress paneled walls; and the massive 20 foot fireplace and cooking alcoves built of brick reclaimed from the historic St. Louis Laclede's Landing. These interesting architectural features add to the enjoyment of your stay. The Lodge is graciously appointed with antiques, artwork, Persian carpeting and many other comforts. Still, the Lodge is a welcoming place for families, with plenty of room inside and out to let off steam.
The gourmet kitchen features two separate cooking stations, one with griddle and grill. The kitchen is equipped to prepare elaborate cuisine or simple country fare. Entertain in whatever style you desire, with a 10-foot dining room table which seats 12, and another table nearby that seats 6.
The 30 x 30 great room, with a fireplace that spans 20 feet, offers endless possibilities for entertainment and relaxation. Step out of the great room onto the furnished front porch and have your morning coffee while enjoying a panoramic view of the Courtois River Valley and mountain ridges beyond. Watch the ranch horses graze and wildlife roam. Gather around a roaring campfire at night and be amazed by the sheer number of stars in the big sky.
The Lodge with master suite sleeps up to 16 people. The spacious and comfortable bedrooms are decorated with a French Country flair. The master suite is a retreat in itself; complete with a private bath, sun room, sitting areas and library. If you rent the Lodge without the master suite, it is suitable for smaller groups or families, while still retaining all of its distinctive features.
