There are also plenty of board games to choose from for interactive family fun. If you can't be without your laptop - bring it - this house has wireless internet as well.
This was a beautiful house (pictures don't do it justice). There was more than enough room for everyone and it was very cozy at the same time. The kids had a blast in the game room! Richard was really wonderful and more than accommodating! Highly recommended.
We were greeted by owner when we arrived to the wonderfully holiday decorated home. The house was warm & welcoming. The owners went above and beyond the call in creating a holiday in The Hideout! A 4' snowman welcomed our grand~babies at the door followed by an amazingly adorned tree next to the fireplace, flanked by Mrs. Claus. Our family spent a terrific week in this open, clean, well appointed home that became our home. Our kids range in age from 18 months to 30 years and they all enjoyed the game room & the theater type entertainment center. We shared meals in the dinning area and read, shared, laughed & watched TV in the huge great room. This is a wonderful home for a family with any age children and a special place to create memories for multi~ generations. We spent a day on the property slopes, marveled at the deer and made snow angels followed by baking cookies & hot cocoa. My family had a terrific time!
We recently stayed at Up the Lake for our family vacation and it was very relaxing. Richard was very helpful and accommodating and his property is beautiful! The house has everything you will need and the location is perfect being only five minutes from the Main pool and Beach. The house fit all 10 of us comfortably with plenty of space and the game room downstairs came in handy for the kids ;)
My husband and I stay in the poconos often and Richard's house was wonderful for our Mother's 64th Birthday. There was a large group of us, many who never visited the poconos before and were pleasantly surprised. The house was very clean and well maintained. It had everything the family needed and the kids loved the game room, the pool, lake, deer. I had a broken leg and the first floor was extremely cozy for me!! The large master BR/ bath were very accomodating to my walker ;) Richard's hospitality was refreshing and our Mother had a memorable bday, thanks to him. His attention to detail was unique compared to many of the other rentals we dealt with in the past. Easy to work with and great communication. We highly recommend "up the lake" for your next gathering. This was a winner!!
The house is absolutely beautiful!! There were six of us staying in the house, four adults, and two boys 4 and 9. The house was more than big enough for us all to have our own space. The kitchen was great for cooking family meals and we all enjoyed relaxing in the great room and watching the deer from the deck!! The boys really enjoyed the games room and watching movies downstairs. They also had a great time at the main beach and pool, which is a short drive down the road. We played mini-golf twice, which was very reasonable. We brought our own kayaks and registered them at the recreation building, it was wonderful kayaking at the main lake and exploring the hideout!! Rich was great to work with and answered all my questions!! A great family vacation! I would definitely recommend this house.
I love the Poconos! I have a group of special students that I teach yoga to that wanted to organize a weekend retreat. I knew that I wanted to be somewhere in the Poconos and so with in 24 hours I found this home and was ready to sign up! Lake Ariel is beautiful. This home is very special. It is well kept and you can tell that a lot of love and care goes into it. And it made us want to treat it that way in return. There were 10 ladies in total and we all had a comfortable bed to sleep in. We were cozy and relaxed. We made space to practice some yoga together a few times during the weekend and the quiet and peace that comes with this home is magical. We cooked a spectacular dinner in the kitchen and had everything we needed! We only used the internet to stay connected every now and then, but there are TV's and cable and an awesome game room that made us wish we had one more day to actually be able to use it all!! We were too busy relaxing by the fire and catching up. We did a hike at Prompton State park which was easy to get to and so much fun. The grocery store is close by and had great produce and made our traveling easy so we didn't have to bring much for the meals we planned to make together. Besides our hike, we were attached to the house and used it to it's fullest! There is a jacuzzi tub that some of us put to good use. Recommended after a long hike!
The owner is a pleasure to work with and I will no doubt come to stay again and again! With or with out a yoga group. And the ladies all felt the same way! We will all recommend this home to others!
