This exclusive two-bedroom / two-shower apartment is located in what is by common consensus the very best Paris location of all: the heart of smart St-Germain-des-Prés. The apartment is mere steps from the famed Café Flore and Café Deux Magots institutions, where the Paris intelligencia historically went to sip their coffee. Today the neighborhood is Paris' most sought-after.

The apartment was renovated from floor to ceiling using high-quality materials, fittings and furnishings. An architect and interior designer worked together to bring you a top-drawer result.

With the Apostrophe boutique (cutting-edge Paris fashion) on the ground floor, the apartment is on the 2nd french floor (third floor US) walk-up (no elevator but short staircase) of a modest 18th century building. The unrestored communal parts retain the feel of old Paris.

The entrance of the apartment opens onto the living room and also distributes the other rooms and separate lavatory. A clever glass-panelled partition in the hallway offers a view of the open kitchen, and a welcome sense of space and brightness.

The living room features two French windows, with ample seating for 4. The floors are finished in magnificent gray-stained hardwood parquet boards. The room is color-coordinated in subtle tones of beiges and grays. The overall feel is one of subdued refinement with a special Parisian cachet. It's a wonderful space to unwind in, with double glazing ensuring peace and quiet.

The contemporary oak kitchen is open on the living room and is fully equipped, including a dish-washer. There is a table and seating for four.

The first bedroom is street-facing (quiet with double-glazing), a queen-sized double bed and generous fitted closets. The room is finished in taupes and contrasting accents of fushia. This bedroom is associated with a stylish marble-clad bathroom.

The second bedroom is courtyard-side, with zenithal light coming in from a large skylight that has a black-out blind. The room is finished in delicate beiges, has a queen-sized bed (that can also be made as two singles) and fitted clothes closet. This bedroom has an ensuite shower area that has been cleverly designed as a luxury boudoir, so it feels almost like small private living room, exclusively for the occupants of the second bedroom.

The communal parts of this building (staircase and hallways) are largely unrestored (but clean), retaining the simple charm of a bygone era. We have therefore elected to offer this stylish and elegant 2-bedroom / 2-shower apartment at an attractive price. Hi, my name is Carole. I own this apartment with my husband, Bruno-Alex, which is half French, half English and have lived in London, Paris and Los Angeles.

Cozy and comfortbale but loud

The apartment is as advertised. It is a fabulous location. It is clean, modern, and very comfortable for a family of four. The reservation and check-in process was efficient. We used the driver that Carole suggested to pick us up at the airport. He met us in the terminal, had the keys to the apartment, and helped us inside. The only issue (which was a big one for us) really has to do with the noise from the street. As described, the apartment sits directly on Blvd. St. Germain, which is a very busy and loud street 24 hours/day. The living room and master bedroom face the street. There are 3 large windows that open but because of the noise, we could rarely keep the windows open. This became problematic because it was rather warm in Paris this week. While there is some sort of portable air conditioner in the living room, it must vent outside through the window and without being able to keep the windows open, we were not able to use it. It is a rather small portable unit regardless and there is no way it could cool much of the apartment anyway. If not for the very loud noise and heat, which made it difficult to sleep on a few of the nights, this apartment is really terrific. We knew that Blvd. St. Germain is busy but based on the other reviews, we booked it anyway. For us, I don't think the way the noise was described by others was accurate. If you don't plan to be in Paris during the warmer months or you don't care about the windows being open or you don't care about the noise, this is a great place at a great price.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you were bothered by the window-open street noise. Most guests did not comment about the noise level because it is typical of a highly central urban location. In fact, thanks to modern and effective double glazing, this apartment is quieter than most. Sensitivity to noise is quite subjective, depending on one's experience of urban locations. Saint-Germain is a highly central Paris location, with everything available within immediate walking distance, and so some window-open city noise is to be fully expected. That is why probably why most guests didn't mention it.

Charming luxury apartment close to many sights

I can't say enough wonderful things about this charming apartment! Perfect location close to so many sights and famous cafes. Also perfectly appointed with everything you need (not skimpy on soap, paper towel, toilet paper, etc. like some places). Even a dishwasher and washer/dryer and separate water closet room! Really nice quality quiet windows and lovely furniture and decor, also a comfy master mattress. Husband and I took our two teenage boys and it was perfect.

Outstanding Paris apartment

This apartment is a gem right in the heart of St. Germain des Pres. Not only are fantastic stores, museums and restaurants within easy walking distance but so also are major metro stops so you can get anywhere in Paris easily. The luxury apartment is lovely with more amenities than expected - not only a fully stocked kitchen but even washer & dryer. We were 3 adults and with the two bedrooms there was plenty of room. The owner was extremely helpful in working out the arrangements and could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely return.

Charming flat close to everything

This was a great location for a trip I took with my husband and 2 friends. The location is fantastic - just step out of the building and you are surrounded by shopping and cafes. Latin quarter is a few blocks away for an inexpensive meal. There is a washer and dryer - unheard of for a Parisian rental - and a dishwasher.

Great Paris Apartment

This is a great apartment in a wonderful location. The layout and space was perfect for our family of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers). The apartment was exactly like the pictures. It is very comfortable, the beds are great, and the living room has nice windows overlooking the Boulevard St. Germain. The kitchen is nicely outfitted and we enjoyed the option of cooking a meal or just having coffee and pastries in the morning to start the day. The Wi-Fi worked great which is essential if you are traveling with teenagers.

The location was perfect. The St Germain area is very nice and the apartment is close to several restaurants, cafes, markets and shops. It is easy to get around Paris from the apartment with many of the best sights in Paris within walking distance. A Taxi line nearby made it easy to catch a ride when needed.

Working with the owner was very easy. She was very helpful and responsive which made the entire process from booking the property to getting checked in and out stress free. She even helped arrange transportation from the Paris Gare Du Nord train station. We would definitely rent again if this property were available.
