Charming home away from home with great mountain views and conveniently located

Great location and great layout- just hope that nothing goes wrong bc the owner was not interested in rectifying any issues.

This was a Thanksgiving family reunion-family from 5 states came in to celebrate with family living in the area and also celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday.

1) No internet- Had we known the internet would not work we would not have rented. We were planning on Skyping with family. We also had someone with us taking an internet based class. We could not get the get any devices to connect when we arrived Wed night, but it was late so I borrowed someone's phone to email the owner. No response until I had left 2 messages the next morning (more issues to come...). The only time the owner called his response was that the prior renters hadn't complained of a problem and he would call the internet company, but otherwise had no solution or offer to help. (And we are all computer savvy. Devices would show the connection but no websites would ever pull up).

2) Plumbing- I started calling Thursday morning bc we discovered that the main floor shower did not drain and the 2 showers downstairs were draining very slowly. Yes, it was Thanksgiving, but we had already paid in full and this was the very beginning of our vacation. We were told that he could not get a plumber out there that day bc it was a holiday (?!) but that maybe he could have someone out there on Friday. No one ever came and again, I was never able to get him to return my calls. My husband ended up buying a plunger and some heavy duty cleaning supplies and cleaning out the nasty funk that came out of the main floor and lower floor drains.

3) Wasp nest- Thursday am we were noticing a few wasps in the cabin. We killed a couple and more kept showing up. We realized they were coming from in the cabin and located a wasp nest in the upstairs vent (in photo with stairs-the vent is above the door on that landing). Left a message with owner Thurs night to inform of this and a couple other issues- never heard back. We killed over half dozen wasps while we were there.

4) Main floor AC not working- Not needed most of our stay but it got up to 85 degrees while cooking Thanksgiving dinner. While trying to figure out what was going on- realized that neither of the air return vents had filters so those with allergies-beware.

We are not new to this area and I have left glowing reviews for other cabins in the area including one right across the street.
