About Islesboros Ferry:
Islesboro is a quiet, restful island town located in Penobscot Bay along Maine's midcoast that offers 600 year round permanent residents. It is reached via ferry from Lincolnville Beach (just outside of Camden.) when you can walk or drive your vehicle on. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or at the Ferry terminal.
Location:
Islesboro is away from the hustle and bustle of Maine's popular Route 1, and is not commercialized. It remains much as it was in the early 1900s when it was a grand, but informal resort community. Today, it's a friendly place with lots of activity such as swimming, fishing, boating, hiking and biking around the island. And, Islesboro offers some of the best sailing waters in the world! Hike the coastline and explore places such as Ryder's Cove and stop to view the interesting geological carvings at Turtlehead Point. Islesboro is a tranquil coastal town, but never boring.
Area Activities and Restaurants:
There are art shows and musicals performed by active local groups in the summer months, and there is limited shopping and dining on the island. For more shopping and restaurants options you can easily visit the nearby towns of Camden and Rockland
