This was a wonderful place to begin and end the day. Everything was as described and the king-sized bed is especially comfortable. Grocery and excellent restaurants are close by, as is easy access to bike paths along the water. We will recommend it to friends and hope to return ourselves.
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to respond it does help others to decide.

Perfect San Francisco experience

If you're reviewing this property, you must already be interested San Francisco, so I will concentrate my comments more on the apt than on the city itself (which is absolutely fabulous). The owner provided excellent info (written and photos) for the use of the well-stocked apt. (via email and a 3-ring binder on the coffee table.) One outstanding feature is that the doors are opened with a keypad combination, so there is no key to keep track of. SUPER convenient. The apt was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. The bed was huge and quite comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, with a nice table convenient for use with a computer. Excellent Wi-Fi. My husband agreed with previous reviewers about how comfortable the recliner was in the living room! The spacious, private patio got great sun in the mid-morning hours. The bathroom is pretty small, but it has everything you need, including extra shampoo, lotions, etc. The washer and dryer were greatly appreciated, although you didn't need them to get clean towels: the towel supply was VERY generous, all shapes and sizes. The bikes (ALL bikes in the garage are available to use) were tremendous. What a cost saver, and fun! Don't let the hills scare you: there are plenty of flat, scenic trails and streets to ride on. The Safeway grocery store is 5 flat minutes away on a bike (take the one with the basket!) The apt is in a very safe, quiet neighborhood. Close (5 minute walk) to stores/restaurants on Chestnut Street ("Hole in the Wall Pizza" was very good.) Five minute walk to major bus lines (bring dollar bills.) Parking was tough: the owner provides info upon request to obtain a parking pass during the day (can be ordered by mail if you plan far ahead), but if you're looking for a spot after 6 PM you may be out of luck. (Any car can park overnight until 10 AM without a pass, again, if you can find a space.) Between the bikes and the buses you could get around the city fine. There is a bowl on the TV stand filled with pamphlets about local attractions/parks, etc. Very useful, but be sure to confirm operating hours, etc. before going since some pamphlets may be outdated. Best side trip: hiking in the Marin Headlands, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, to the west. 20 minute drive to get there, well worth the views back toward the city.
The owner was very responsive to emailed questions prior to our stay, and our security deposit was returned within a week of our departure. Fantastic
Owner's Response: Thank you very much I think everything you had to say will help other people know what is being offered. It is a lovely home and I am enjoy sharing my place and having people enjoy themselves.

Great location!

Our family of three recently stayed at Cedar's lovely home for a week. We loved the location! It was quiet and residential, yet close to the water, walking/biking trails, restaurants and shops, the Palace of Fine Arts, and the Golden Gate Bridge. We used the bikes almost every day to bike to Safeway, over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, and along the water to the Embarcadero. It was a great way to see the city.
The home was very clean and had everything we needed. It was great to have a washer and dryer and the king bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the patio and garden.
We thought it was a great value for the price and we would definitely stay there again in the future.

Quiet, safe and beautiful neighborhood

This was our first trip to San Francisco. As regular users of HomeAway, we looked for a nice area and neighborhood to stay in. This house did not disappoint. First, the place itself is very homey and comfortable (my husband loved the recliner). The kitchen is very nice and had all that we needed. We really didn't cook much, but it was great for morning coffee and cereal. The bedroom was large and there was plenty of space. There is a beautiful patio area with nice flowers. One little perk that we liked was the plush robes. The marina area was a good choice. We could walk one block and look at the water and the bridge. We could walk about 3 blocks to the Palace of Fine Arts. This is a stop for most, if not all, hop on hop off tours, which we did as an initial overview. Also, we found several great restaurants on nearby Chestnut street. Cedar was very easy to work with when making our plans. We noticed that the people in SF were really friendly. We had a few people even stop and ask if they could help us, when we were apparently looking lost. The locals seem to know how to relax and enjoy.

A week flew by ... Even in the short time, this place became HOME! Every amenity hoped for and more. Ideal location, quiet neighborhood, comfy place to return to after a day in the city. We felt like we were staying in a friend's home. No complaints from these two Phoenicians ... And THAT is a pretty high compliment! We WILL return!
